UMass HC Joe Harasymiak on QB Pop Watson’s status for UConn game: Pop, TY, Joe and Will DePaepe all went through walkthrough today. All four will probably be gametime decisions, but we’re on a good start.

Made the trip to Amherst today. Incredible effort from UMass. Felt great to watch a competent football team play their ass off.
The decision to go for 2 was 100% the right call. Didnt love the playcall given the personnel but it was right there if the OL had blocked it correctly
Worried about the injuries piling up. The WR room is in a rough spot if TY is hurt. Couple OL limping off the field at the end. Defense seemed to get out fairly unscathed (i think).
Probably had it if there isn’t a breakdown on the OLine. 2 linemen blocked the same guy and let the blitzing LB straight thru the gap

We gotta talk about Cignetti’s non-conference scheduling. Why are the reigning national champions this scared of competition?
SCHEDULE UPDATE: Indiana and UMass have mutually agreed to cancel their meeting scheduled for September 18, 2027 in Bloomington.
This opens up an open slot for #iufb in Week 3 of next year. Who would you want to see the Hoosiers play?

Since the Red Sox analytics department took out Sonny Gray at 71 pitches:
1.0 IP
6 hits
7 runs
Season over.
Some concerning things about the offense that I could nitpick but this team just flew 3000 miles in conference play without 2 starting offensive linemen and their best WR and absolutely put it on Sac State. We are in uncharted territory. Fill McGuirk next weekend.
One thing I am 100% certain of with UMass is this is the best tackling team of the FBS era and I don’t know that there is a close second.
Josh Iseah has been invaluable to this defense. Feels like the emotional leader too. What a portal find.
