What happens to attention when the gesture meant to focus it becomes a gesture of distraction?
In Lapse, every swipe changes what you see.
An organic field of movement is interrupted by rectangular frames β like photographs, pictures, or fragments of a social media feed.
There is no sudden spectacle.
No dramatic transition.
Just another image.
And another.
The work uses the mechanics of scrolling without offering a usual reward.
The question is not what appears next.
It is whether we still need to see what appears next.

this is from my audiovisual studio: i write the music as patterns in tidal, and every note it sends goes through a relay i built.
it passes the note to the sound engine, but also makes a copy and sends that to the visuals. so the visuals arenβt listening to the audio, theyβre getting the exact same message the sound is getting, at the same time
