If Zach Merrett plays 100 games for Hawthorn, his boy becomes eligible to play for the Hawks under current Father/Son rules (he could also nominate Essendon of course). I wonder which team Mrs Merrett will be pushing him towards. 🤪

We’re predicting that the term “Wharfie Time” will enter the popular vernacular to mean “completely fucking something up”. Like when you rear end the car in front while texting on your phone. “ Oh shit! I bloody Wharfie Timed that!!”
Good on these two for getting what they wanted. However this photo should haunt Essendon club officials, coaches and recruiters. Will it be Merrett next year or maybe Ridley? We simply have to be better and stop being the club that players want to leave just to taste success

Will Setterfield signs on for another year. Was very good towards the end of the season and will provide some much needed midfield size and experience as our young team continues to develop. Great to see Rhys Unwin also given a further year to show us what he can do.
Just never went right for Elijah. From tearing his meniscus before playing a game then dealing with Essendon’s inability to develop his potential. Or maybe AFL is just too big a step up. Good luck to the kid and thanks for your service
