Yeah, anyone who looked at the design of AIs can see why it is simply not designed for creating new knowledge.
"AI will cure cancer!" Sorry, but no, unless it works together with humans
It can commoditize average cause it scales... sure,
But science is about pushing boundaries and discovering things that are neither in the data nor a consensus view
But AI models, by design, revert to what is consensus in the existing data, which is the opposite of what you should be doing as a researcher
Oxford researchers argue that LLMs can never invent anything.
It is mathematically impossible.
They published a paper called “Theory Is All You Need" and it argues against the claim that computational models can generate genuine novelty or new knowledge.
They analyzed the limits of generative ai, and the results are a brutal reality check for the idea that ai will replace human decision making under uncertainty.
Here is why AI is stuck and human cognition wins:
backward-looking vs forward-looking.. llms are probability machines that look backward at existing data. human cognition is forward-looking and capable of generating genuine novelty. human cognition operates theoretically "top-down" rather than "bottom-up" from data.
the "data-belief asymmetry".. the researchers use the invention of "heavier-than-air flight" to illustrate this concept. an ai relies on data-based prediction, which is largely imitative. humans, however, use theory-based causal logic that allows them to hold beliefs that go beyond existing data.
the intervention gap.. humans don't just process information; we use theory to practically "intervene" in the world. we engage in directed experimentation to generate entirely new data. ai-based models are theory-free and place primacy on existing data and prediction.
tldr?
AI uses a probability-based approach to knowledge and ia largely imitative. It can process data and make predictions, but human cognition relies on theory-based causal reasoning.
The decades-old analogy comparing human minds and computers to mere "input-output" devices is fundamentally flawed.

Oh yeah, also FOMO is making shit ton of money off above PvP
I'd like some deeper pullback on hyperliquid:native tbh
Low $70, high of $60 would look attractive, considering the market's bottomed
However, hyperliquid:native has printed bearish divergences on 3d, 7d, and 30d
High timeframe divergences are my favourite indicators for bottom/tops
Either it is going to be an exception, or HYPE gonna chop for weeks/months
Also happy to see now projects are racing to bring back value to holders via buyback
Hype, pump, pons all doing well is a big win for the industry
The amount of FUD on $PUMP is incredible
i understand you guys missed out on obvious trade and now cheering for copy-pastas
but looking at numbers all of them can do well, and are all relatively undervalued compared to bunch of vapor and the stock market
Also, did you know that the more successful PONS is, the better it is for PUMP because of their trading app?
More than 50% of the volume on their app is RH shitters
Yeah, prob $PUMP underperforms in the short term, but it's easy to see how strongly they've positioned themselves
Roughly 85% cash, with decent profits taken on PUMP, PONS and HYPE on the way up
PUMP is consolidating nicely, while I expect HYPE to chop for a bit (I'll be adding on pullbacks!), I have no idea about PONS here
Still think HYPE>PUMP>PONS

Despite the negative image the industry sometimes receives from the media,
if you really look deeper, crypto/blockchain is easily one of the top 5 technologies of our generation that has given us:
- Programmable money & assets
- Permissionless financial infrastructure + 24/7 liquidity
- Digital ownership & scarcity
- Global coordination & novel ways of aligning incentives
- Censorship-resistant stores of value
And we’re still only scratching the surface of what this technology can enable.
