Researchers at @TCD_SNM and @TCPHI_TCD are conducting a study to understand the experiences of adults who have received CAR-T therapy for a blood cancer diagnosis, from treatment through survivorship.
Who should take part:
Adults who have received, or are currently receiving, CAR-T therapy for lymphoma, leukaemia, or myeloma to share their experiences and perspectives on life during and after treatment. Your insights could help improve care and support for people receiving CAR-T therapy.
What is involved:
◽ An interview at a time and location that suits you, either in person, online, or by phone.
◽There is a Participant Information Leaflet for further information that can be accessed at eu.surveymonkey.com/r/7SCVVZ…. This link can also be used to register your interest.

Congratulations to Dr Dan Fitzpatrick on the successful defence of his PhD dissertation: 'Mental health in the military: A mixed methods investigation of mental health and help-seeking behaviours in the Irish Defence Force.'

New Lymphoma research led by @vanessaboland. The findings show that lymphoma survivors with a better quality of life tend to have fewer unmet needs.
The study suggests that addressing fatigue and cognitive issues, could help improve the quality of life.

📢 New research from our @visuAAL_ITN @TCPHI_TCD
PhD student @natalietaq explores why older adults often reject camera-based active and assisted living (AAL) technologies, despite their potential to support independent living. This scoping review of 50 studies identified 28 barriers—including privacy concerns, feeling watched, and stigma—and 19 facilitators, such as the technology’s usefulness and a clear need for support.
To increase adoption, we need to go beyond functionality and address the psychological, social, and environmental factors influencing acceptance. Privacy, trust, and stigma remain major concerns, and overcoming these will be key to ensuring wider use of camera based AAL technologies. #Aging #AssistiveTech #Innovation #HealthTech #digitalhealth #AAL @abrady4 @TCD_SNM

They will adress the often-overlooked aspects of sexuality and intimacy in dementia care. Understanding and addressing the sexual and intimate needs of individuals with dementia is essential for providing holistic and person-centered care.

We are delighted to invite applications for two new PhD positions based in @tcddublin and @KU_Leuven (Belgium) as part of doctoral training linked to the Healthy Adaptation to Pregnancy, Postpartum and Parenthood (#HAP3) project.
HAP3 aims to address the detrimental impact of intergenerational transmission of obesity and mental health problems from parents to infants in the first three years of life.
