Codex usage limits last way longer now, which is great. But somehow 6 Sol Max is giving me the strongest “tiny open-source model” feeling I’ve had in a while.

Please welcome GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the GPT-6 universe. GPT-6 Sol and Luna build on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, bringing much of its strengths into faster and more affordable models to support work at scale. We’ve also made caching and inference more efficient, and we’re passing the savings directly to you: 50% lower API prices for Sol and Luna compared with GPT‑5.6 promotional pricing.

i definitely need to see how that animation looks in real life

looks like Codex is way more efficient now, but 5h limits completely kill the vibe. also, why does everyone have the luna reserve but I don’t? 😅

I don’t have a device to test it on, so please tell me Apple fixed the navbar in beta 5 🙏
115
is luna basically unlimited now? i’ve literally spent the last 4 hours working on a patch for shadps4 to support playlink games, while editing files and running tests, and i’ve still only used 2% of my weekly quota.

what I like about 5.6 Sol is how little friction there is between an idea and a working product. one prompt can get you a polished SwiftUI app using modern native APIs, plus a backend that actually works. literally magic.
146
so i guess no 5.6 sol in europe?🫠

Replying to @prdgmshift
@prdgmshift could the exploit theoretically be used to fix a bricked iPhone 11?

Claude Fable is really amazing. In one prompt, it created a magic gun in 3D and teleported me and my house to the moon!

now let’s get back to reality: iOS app code still sucks.😅 Observable + DispatchQueue + StateObject spaghetti is still everywhere. Questions get asked every second, then the output ignores everything you said. Design is a mess. Gradients all over the place... Just use Codex😉
183
so now we’re supposed to think in terms of three different designs? iOS 18: flat navbars with materials iOS 26: beautiful scroll-edge effects and liquid glass iOS 27: flat navbars again, but with liquid glass? #wwdc26
274
I literally saw Claude preview iOS 26 Liquid Glass changes for a Swift app through a local HTML page. That was my sign. Do yourself a favor: switch to Codex.

why are zoom transitions in SwiftUI so broken on iOS 26.x but runs smooth as butter on iOS 18?🫠

i can't even explain how much i love this icon

everyone’s getting ios simulator on codex app but swiftui previews are nowhere to be found… @Dimillian any chance that gets added to the checklist? 👀

that would be especially useful when iterating on some views (e.g. deeply nested layouts), previews let you see changes instantly instead of rebuilding + running the whole app each time, saving a ton of time in the process
152
isn’t codex on 5.5 burning way more tokens than 5.4? or am I trippin? @thsottiaux

Starting June 1st, GitHub Copilot will move to a usage-based billing model as GitHub Copilot supports more agentic and advanced workflows. In early May, you'll see a preview bill experience, giving visibility into projected costs before the transition. 👉 Read more about the upcoming change: github.blog/news-insights/co…
