Hey, Twitter! What questions do you want answered for female athletes? If the funding, participants, and facilities were available, what would you want studied? #femaleathletehealth #2021FAC #sportsmedicine

Really important for coaches: warning signs of disordered eating and risk factors. As coaches, need to think about mitigating risks.
OPEN ACCESS! Must read if you work in sport. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) position statement on disordered eating in high performance sport - great work to this team: bjsm.bmj.com/content/early/2…

1/ opening schools for K-6 or K-8 in the fall is really not that difficult. The key variable for the most part is space: we need fewer students per class and we can't re-open if restricted to current classrooms. Basically we need to increase # of rooms by 50-70%

Is running associated with a lower risk of all-cause, cardiovascular and cancer mortality, and is more better? A wonderful infographic to accompany one of the biggest #BJSM papers of 2020! Thanks @AdamVirgile & team! ow.ly/RaJM50AinuM

We admit, sometimes wearing a mask in public isn't the most fashionable or comfortable choice. But some people wear Leafs jerseys, so yeah. Just saying. OttawaPublicHealth.ca/Masks

I feel like these companies with new permanent WFH policies are forgetting about the benefits of co-location and cross pollination of ideas at "the water cooler". IMO I don't want to work from home permanently. I'm missing the creativity that in person conversation provides.

"We need to close streets – partly or entirely – to give people more room to circulate safely, especially in large urban centres. We need to let people use parks to their full extent – enough of this “stay on the path or be fined” nonsense." Thanks @picardonhealth
Excellent reasoning from @picardonhealth (with @NCC_CCN initiative pictured). Cities need to create more outdoor space for people to move: close streets (why devote so much space to cars and crowd people?) and let people use parks.  /via @globeandmail theglobeandmail.com/canada/a…

Total income = total expenditure. If you want to earn more than you spend, you need someone else in the economy to correspondingly spend more than it earns. Every dollar of surplus must find its source from a dollar of deficit (and vice versa)

Replying to @VeraEtches
A city-wide plan to provide safe outdoor access for active transport, walking, and physical activity (access to parks, pathways, close roads if need be).

Calgary is closing entire streets for pedestrians & Winnipeg is designating 4 stretches of road as bicycle & #activetransportion routes. Can we follow this lead @VeraEtches @JimWatsonOttawa @ottawahealth? nationalpost.com/wcm/85de8d6… via @nationalpost

We have very good evidence that universal adoption of cloth masks will combat the spread of the virus. Specifically, we know that 1) asymptomatic people spread the virus, 2) mask wearing by infected people prevents them from transmitting the virus (the report provides citations).

Although Ottawa Public Health recommends physical (social) distancing, this doesn't mean your children have nothing to do! Get outside, go for a hike or a bike ride. However, no play dates and no social gatherings to avoid spreading #COVID19 ! OttawaPublicHealth.ca/Physic…
