I'm not sure why, but Russell Quant has always had success in Turkey. This is coverage about QUANT in a Turkish literary publication. Cool.
Kanadalı polisiye yazarı @abidulka, sevilen özel dedektifi Russell Quant’ı 15 yıllık aranın ardından yeniden okurlarla buluşturuyor. Serinin 9. kitabı #Quant, intihar süsü verilmiş olabilecek şüpheli bir ölümün izini sürerken aile sırlarını, açgözlülüğü ve küçük kasabaların karanlık yüzünü ortaya çıkarıyor. #DünyadanKitapHaberleri sucustu.net/2026/10/16/15-yi…

“…refreshing and frankly, ground-breaking. As much of an homage to the character himself, Quant is a celebration of Anthony Bidulka’s entire literary career.” Quant - The BOLO Books Review bolobooks.com/2026/10/quant-… via @BOLOBooks

All week we’ve been supporting Anthony @abidulka in getting the word out about his new crime novel, QUANT. He’s an indie author who has also won the biggest prize in Canadian crime fiction – The Arthur Ellis Award - for his queer literary mystery Going to Beautiful. QUANT is more down the line genre fiction but that’s exactly what we look for here on the site. It’s all about a private detective, a woman whose husband has been killed (made to look like suicide) and big business trying to bend the rules in a small town. Russel Quant is on the case in this, the ninth novel in the series. Set Saskatchewan as your next reading destination!🍁 link.amazon/B0a4aIe4P

🖤❤️🖤Attention lovers of PI crime fiction. 📢 Back in June, Canadian crime author Antony @abidulka reprinted all eight books in his Russell Quant series with rainbow covers.🇨🇦 Now, his big gay detective is back in a new story simply entitled QUANT. The novel was released yesterday. The book reflects the 15 or so years that have passed since Quant’s last outing, but it also brings readers of the series the same things they’ve always loved about it: ✅Characters that feel connected ✅A protagonist who fights for justice ✅An exotic location or two ✅A mystery full of layers and secrets ✅A snapshot of life on the prairies Canada is doing its own thing on the world stage at the moment. It’s authors, like Anthony, have been doing so for years. So, give it a try: link.amazon/B0a4aIe4P

🎉🥂Happy publication day to Canadian crime fiction author Anthony @abidulka – today sees the release of QUANT, the ninth novel in his Russell Quant series. 👏✨ This is a book worth looking out for. Canadian crime authors don’t get the garlands some Americans do when their books arrive in the UK, but Anthony won Canada’s prestigious Arthur Ellis Award for Best Novel in 2023 – the equivalent of a CWA Dagger in the UK, or an Edgar in the States. I’ve already dipped into this book, and I can vouch for a uniquely Canadian vibe, a case where truth needs to be told to power, and a story where real human relationships matter. This is the ninth in the series I think the CBC should make a TV show out of these books. Our review is on the way, but you can grab your copy now here: link.amazon/B0a4aIe4P

⌛️After nearly 15 years away, the Canadian private detective Russell Quant is making his return – tomorrow!📆 Between 2003 and 2012, Anthony @abidulka was writing one of the most important crime series, and most important LGBTQ+ series, in Canadian literature. But Quant said ‘Adios’ after Dos Equis, book eight.🇨🇦 If you’ve never come across him, he’s described as “the first and only wine-swilling, wise-cracking, world-travelling, winsomely gay, half Irish, half Ukrainian, ex-cop, ex-farm boy, Canadian prairie private eye being written about today.” As soon as Quant arrives back in his hometown of Howell, Saskatchewan, the peace of the prairies is broken by the murder of someone close to him and his family. And when someone needs help, he can’t just stand by. Find out more here: link.amazon/B0a4aIe4P #ad

#Saskatchewan. Very cool place. Perhaps especially for #mystery novels.
Why do I set many of my mystery novels in Saskatchewan? If you haven’t heard of it or you haven’t been then, I guess it qualifies as a foreign, exotic, mysterious locale, right? Great for mystery novels.

What on earth could Turks & Caicos have in common with Saskatchewan? Is a mystery novel the answer?
