Charlie Munger says your life will be better if... "You don't have a lot of envy. You don't have a lot of resentment. You don't overspend your income. You stay cheerful in spite of your troubles. You deal with reliable people. You do what you're supposed to do."

People laughing at mathematicians don’t seem to realize that these guys could take basically any other knowledge work job. You’re being snarky towards lions.
Mathematician Terence Tao: "we're seeing the end of the romantic era of mathematics, the age of heroes. we're moving into an industrial era where math becomes large-scale, done in big teams like the other sciences" We're entering, rather unwillingly, a new era where exciting new things are possible, but some things are being lost

One underrated trait for getting good work: Being easy to work with. People naturally gravitate towards those who make working together easier.

I am really scared with age of AI that knowledge might become scarce and hidden behind paywalls again. AI companies themselves are tearing books apart after scanning them . 90s and 2000s internet was such a free way of life which is now ending.

The brighter STEM people understand that studying science does not automatically turn out intellectuals. Intellectualism requires a broader understanding of the world. However, there's a large midwit layer of STEM narcissists who lack the humility that could drive them to investigate what they don't understand. Placed in positions of influence, these people are quite dangerous.

Github is already suffering due to agentic ai , internet will become closed and behind pay walls to prevent AI crawlers , Linkedin and medium are already full of ai slop so many websites will start anti ai protocols in content .
I don't think we're ready for how much the internet is about to change within the next 36 months because of super intelligence and AI agents

Sometimes i think in our country people become so insecure when they are just surviving too long that they forget to dare to dream . Which is a pity. Dreams are what keeps that fire in us alive. We should always dare to dream and pursue those dreams .

it’s such a super power to be able to give and love freely without any transactional context . It’s very helpful to attract and pull good people . Not everyone can do this . Especially those who themselves never received this .

Look like in age of AI playing safe and being mediocre in career is a really bad choice of career bet.

I wonder with the age of ai and ai eating up most of easy roles in tech and in fact many white collar jobs what industry and role would be a good bet . Can anyone comment any guesses .

Hypothesis: A dramatic life is a good story to tell but a really bad experience to live through I wouldn't wish a dramatic life upon anyone, the suffering can bring you to your knees but you'll pretend to world that you are cool that is the idiocy of living for "the narrative" or making your life story-worthy a lot of good decision making is boring & intuitive that's where a good life is lived always cap the downside first & have fun experimenting with what's left, that's kinda it
Saw a LinkedIn post by some founder who was in 2 Cr loan in covid & took a 45 L loan on wedding jewellery for executive coaching - what kinda dramatic person does that - feels like gamble & I've seen my cousins lose a decade of wealth on those moves ... speechless ...
