🧵 I'm often asked how I feel about the ~state of journalism~ and our industry's future. Like others, I see the challenges facing our field and the things that must change for us to collectively survive. But I also see lots of bright spots, so here is a thread of those ✨

People are hungry for news and information they can use and want to support it! That's not to say it's not hard work for journalism outlets to succeed, but it is possible. And there are success stories and lessons all around us, they're just often overshadowed by the bad news.
