"When politics pays your bills, the truth becomes your enemy"โ Singer Di'ja
What is happening in Arewa is heartbreaking, terrifying, and completely unacceptable. People are being kidnapped, tortured, killed, and held for ransom. Videos and reports of these horrific incidents are circulating everywhere online, yet it feels as though the suffering of ordinary citizens has become something we are expected to live with. How did we get to a point where people can no longer feel safe in their own communities, on the roads, or even inside their homes?
Let us be honest with ourselves: our leaders have failed woefully in their most fundamental responsibility, which is to protect the lives and property of the people they govern. This is not about politics, political parties, or who supports which government. It is about human lives, the safety of our families, and the future of our communities. No political affiliation should ever be more important than the lives of innocent Nigerians.
Today, people travelling from one place to another do so with the fear that they may never reach their destination. Families are terrified whenever their loved ones embark on a journey. Even those who remain in their homes are no longer certain that their homes offer them protection. When people begin to fear being abducted from their own neighbourhoods, we must acknowledge that something has gone terribly wrong.
Take Millennium City in Kaduna, for example. The growing fear of bandit attacks and kidnappings is becoming a serious concern for residents. People are reportedly beginning to consider leaving their homes because they no longer feel safe where they live. Imagine working hard to build a home, establish a business, raise your children, and create a future for your family, only to find yourself living in constant fear that you could be taken away for ransom at any moment. No one deserves to live like this.
The consequences extend far beyond the immediate victims of these attacks. Insecurity destroys livelihoods, disrupts education, weakens local businesses, discourages economic activity, and forces families to abandon the communities they have spent years building. It creates an environment where businesses struggle to survive, property loses value, and development becomes increasingly difficult. Most importantly, it destroys the peace of mind that every human being deserves.
No serious investor wants to invest in an environment where lives and property are constantly under threat. Investors need security, stability, and confidence that their businesses, employees, and investments will be protected. When insecurity drives residents away and discourages new businesses from entering a community, the economic consequences eventually affect the entire state. Development cannot thrive where people are afraid to live, work, travel, and conduct their daily activities.
This is why the security crisis in Arewa must not be treated as just another political talking point. It requires urgent attention, decisive action, accountability, and a genuine commitment to protecting the people. We cannot continue to normalise the loss of innocent lives, the payment of ransoms, the displacement of families, and the suffering of communities as though these things are an unavoidable part of life.
Leadership is not merely about occupying an office, making promises, attending events, or campaigning for the next election. Leadership comes with a responsibility to protect citizens, respond to their suffering, and create the conditions necessary for them to live with dignity and peace. When people cannot safely travel, sleep in their homes, or go about their daily lives, serious questions must be asked about the effectiveness of those entrusted with their security.

The primary responsibility of any responsible government is to protect the lives and properties of ALL citizens, regardless of their religion, tribe, or background.
These are residents of Millennium City who have reportedly fallen victim to kidnappers demanding huge sums of money as ransom. ๐
No citizen deserves to live in fear in their own community. The safety of lives and properties must be a priority, not a privilege.
Ya Allah, ease their suffering, protect the victims, comfort their families, and grant them safe and speedy freedom. Ameen. ๐คฒ

HISTORY WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR BETRAYAL OF AREWA TWITTER
Arewa Twitter will never forget the day Red Pen, Whatspaping, Khalil, and the rest of you turned your backs on the very people who needed your voices the most.
while our parents, friends, relatives, and communities were being killed, while our economy was being crushed and our people were drowning in frustration and hopelessness, we expected you to stand with us.
but when we needed you the most, you chose money over principle, personal interest over conscience, and comfort over the suffering of your own people.
we needed your voices, your platforms and your influence, but instead you chose to stand with people who clearly have little concern for our lives, our suffering or our wellbeing.
you may enjoy whatever you gained from it today, but history has a way of remembering moments like this.
when arewa needed your voices, you refused to speak. when our people needed you to stand, you chose to stand elsewhere.
history will remember. arewa will not forget.

Temi won but if Iโm speaking from the deepest part of my heart, Aikou was more deserving of that crown. โค๏ธ
Aikou brought something different to this season. He carried his personality, his uniqueness, his madness, his intelligence and his entertainment value like nobody else. He didnโt need to copy anyone or force a storyline he was simply Aikou, and that alone made the show worth watching.
Temi played a good game and earned her place, no doubt. But if you ask me who I truly believe deserved to be crowned winner, with my full chest and full heart, I will always say Aikou. ๐
The result may say Temi, but my heart says Aikou. And I will stand by that. ๐ฏ
