Morning #SSP2023! Come join me at session 5D today (10:45am local time) on "Working Together to Preserve the Integrity of the Scholarly Record in a Transparent and Trustworthy Way".
Just watched 'Metadata the Musical' at #SSP2023. Much excellent insect punning plus metadata - what's not to love?
Kicking off #SSP2023 in style with a field trip to Powell’s. Thanks @SusanWillner for organising.
Day two of #APE2023 starting with "New dotcoms to watch" featuring @hum_works @scientifyRES @prophyscience @sciscore @ImageTwinAI @audemic_co
@prophyscience voted for as the winner, but I unsurprisingly have a soft spot for anyone creating persistent identifiers so @sciscore and RRIDs get my vote :)
Great session at #APE2023 chaired by @alicejmeadows: (Re?)building trust in research integrity. @chrisgrafpub, @damianpattinson, @gabioshka, @rachelaburley and Sabina Alam discussing importance of openness, adding relationships between items, & having multi-stakeholder approach.

Quaderi - a lot of the problem for assessment in the UK REF is the amount of human time, which could be automated.
ME: In order to do this effectively, we need better use of identifiers and metadata to allow that automation to take place.

Hear hear - data is essential but not sufficient - it's all about the context. crossref.org/blog/isr-part-o… #APE2023
And as @DrNandiQ says, metrics can be very strong drivers of behavior and need to be robust, humble, transparent, diverse and reflexive.
And tracking the relationships between them will become increasingly important! #researchnexus crossref.org/blog/seeing-you…
💡Among other trends, in 2023 academic publishing will become more modular (focused on protocols, methods, analysis and #ResearchData) says @dirnagl #APE2023
Here we go then - #APE2023 - do come and find me in the coffee breaks if you want talk about #metadata, integrity of the scholarly record, the #researchnexus, or just hear lots of "it's going from bad to wurst" jokes.
Back in Berlin for #ape2023 - just had the obligatory wurst and sauerkraut so I'm READY. See you tomorrow APE folk.
This is a really interesting and varied role, and a great way to get deeply involved in the #scholcomm community globally. The @CrossrefOrg team are great, and our Ambassadors are a wonderful group of people. Do take a look.
We've got an exciting #job opening for #CommunityManager to lead our Ambassadors, launch new community initiatives and run events to support organisations globally to preserve and open scholarly #metadata, co-creating #researchnexus. Full details at crossref.org/jobs/2022-11-21…
Crossref's annual meeting & board elections happening tomorrow - Oct 26 at 11am ET, 4pm BST. Sign up now if you haven't already - I'll be sharing membership trends that we're seeing.
Join us for the #CRLIVE22 on Oct 26 at 11am ET, 4pm BST, for two hours celebrating the latest breakthroughs from our community on developing #ResearchNexus with ever richer and more open #metadata. Board Elections included :) Register at bit.ly/3R6v0g8
Great first day at #fbf speaking to @WorldBank, @CSIROPublishing, @Akademiai1828, The Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association, @SciencePOD and @WitsPress. Great to speak to people who are so passionate about #metadata. Cheers!
Come speak to @Atoneet and me at #fbf at stand M5, Hall 4.2. You can ask us anything (particularly if you know which coffee stand has the shortest queue).
@epentz, @LucyOfiesh, @MartynRittman and @CollinsSu are here too, but they're feeling camera shy :)
