Yes! This is the first thing I thought of when I watched the film. It's a beautiful nod by Zoya and team.

So happy to see Anglo-Indians get mainstream representation in Zoya Akhtar’s film The Archies. If you’d like to read more about the small community, @abarrytone has written a terrific account. Published by @AlephBookCo.

The Anglo-Indians , The Bengalis and The Assamese are the best account yet of one of India’s most remarkable and enigmatic communities. Sudeep Chakravarti delves deep into the culture, literature, history and social mores of the Bengalis. He writes with acuity about the many strengths of the community but does not flinch from showing us its weaknesses and tormented history. Barry O’Brien, an Anglo-Indian with a ringside view and his finger firmly on the pulse of the community, delves deep into the heritage, culture, way of life, literature, social mores, and sheer dynamism of the community. Full of colourful anecdotes and unforgettable pen portraits, The Assamese is the first major attempt to provide a comprehensive and nuanced portrait of one of India’s oldest and most distinctive communities by Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty. #TheAssamese by @sangbarooahpish #TheBengalis by @chakraview #TheAngloIndians by @abarrytone

One of Hazratganj’s iconic landmarks is Universal Book Sellers. Interacted with readers in Lucknow, signed copies of The Anglo-Indians: A Portrait of a Community. Happy to learn from the charming Mr Chander Prakash that initial two lots of my books at Universal were “sold out.”

Signed copies of The Anglo-Indians: A Portrait of a Community at Faqir Chand&Sons, Delhi, while Denise and I spent some quality time with Anoop Kumar, Mamta, and Abhinav. Got to know that the iconic bookshop was originally in Peshawar, and ‘reopened’ here at Khan Market in 1951.
