It seems MN supply is (finally) ramping up. Plants started in May are just now starting to reach retail shelves, w/ a much larger wave of production coming behind them. mn.gov/ocm/data-reports/dash… After a disappointing first 13 months of AU sales (which began 9/17/25), could MN finally turn a corner over the next 6–12 months, as its 200+ retailers become better stocked & prices begin to fall from their absurdly high levels? (which have kept the MN illicit market strong) If the US cannabis industry is going to return to meaningful growth in 2027 after 3+ years of stagnation, we need MN to start pulling its weight.

84% of 11-year-olds aren't allowed to leave their street. 53% can't leave their front yard. 92% of 14-year-olds can't leave their neighborhood. We built a culture obsessed with safety. The result? A generation that's measurably more anxious: substack.com/home/post/p-197…

This is great stuff.
The Brewers just advanced to the World Series for the first time in 44 years. They beat the Dodgers, who outspend them by $193 million. With a player who said: “I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing.” And a manager who got fired from his first big-league job and had to admit: “My ego was involved a great deal more than it should have been. Last year, the brewers lost to LA in the playoffs, getting swept in the process. Their coach Pat Murphy’s framing backfired: “I’m sorry I played that underdog card. I probably shouldn’t have played that, used that as an excuse for why we didn’t play well...I don’t care who the underdog is. I don’t care who the favorite is. It’s about getting in the ring and fighting it out.” Our frame has to match the moment. An underdog story can be energizing, but it can also give you an out. That’s the nuance of leading in the arena, everything works and doesn’t. Two years ago, after hitting .199, Jake Bauers was ready to retire. A few days after he made that call, he found out his wife was pregnant. He stuck around partially for the health insurance. Now, he’s the NLCS MVP, after a career year, and three moments that changed the series for the Brewers. His explanation for the turnaround: “I came into this year feeling like there was really only one person holding me back, and that was myself...I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing.” It sounds absurd. Isn’t the result the point? But when we focus too much on the result, it pulls us away from taking the actions that actually help us get there. An outcome obsession also activates more avoidance motivation. Our brain goes into protecting our ego mode because we’ve told it the results matter so much. We’ve got to let go...just enough, to get out of our own way. The Brewers manager has a similar arc. Pat Murphy got his first big-league managing job at 56, as the Padres’ interim. He lasted 96 games and was let go. His own review: “I did everything wrong five times... My ego was involved a great deal more than it should have been.” He then spent 8 seasons as a bench coach, and only got another opportunity at 65. He’s now been Manager of the Year twice with the 19th-ranked payroll. His simple motto: “You keep trying to find a way.” He benched Christian Yelich, his highest-paid player, for Game 1 of the NLCS. He benched rookie Cooper Pratt for not hustling, in a pennant race. He comes with standards and care, at the same time. It’s not an either/or, demanding or players coach. You need both. “They may have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we’ve got a bunch of gamers. And the gamers won this week.” The Brewers won with a manager who dropped his ego. A star player who dropped the results story. And a team who ditched the underdog role, and decided to compete instead of trying to force their way to a win.. And they came from behind in all 4 games, to claim victory. That’s what a gamer is. People who tell the right story for the moment in front of them. It’s not some fake alpha BS that looks good on the internet. It’s someone who finds a way to show up and keep competing, despite the discomfort, fear, and everything else that goes into stepping into the arena.

Canada's legalization is the ultimate rebuttal of almost all prohibitionist claims about cannabis.
8 years ago today, AU cannabis sales began in Canada. This anniversary is our annual reminder that the most straightforward rebuttal to the dire predictions of cannabis prohibitionists is simply: look at Canada. It is intellectually dishonest to continue making outlandish claims about the supposed dangers of legalization as if we don’t already have 8 years of real-world evidence from Canada. Legalization is not a political controversy in Canada anymore. Canadians barely think about it. Nobody cares. In October 2022, a week before Canada celebrated its 4th anniversary of AU sales, President Biden ordered a federal review of marijuana’s scheduling. 4 years later, Canada is now celebrating its 8th anniversary and the US rescheduling process still isn’t finished, in no small part because American political discourse continues to take seriously the deeply disingenuous arguments of prohibitionists who willingly disregard real-world evidence from places like Canada. I really hope we’re not having this same, tired conversation when Canada celebrates its 9th anniversary of AU sales next year. I’m getting too old for this.

7 years after AU sales began in Canada, it seems hard to dispute that cannabis legalization 🇨🇦 has been a real success. Legal market -> 80%+ of sales. The illicit market has shrunk massively. Youth use is down. Cannabis contributes $16B to annual GDP. Supports 227,000 jobs.

This: "A ban does not clear the path to legalization. It hands the movement’s opponents a win they can point to for a decade." and this: "Prohibition was never the path to legalization. It is not the path now, either."

Andy Harris is one of the most prominent cannabis prohibitionists in Congress. It is no surprise that he holds other ridiculous beliefs.
Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night. Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

Trikafta is one of the most inspiring medical advances in decades. Approved in 2019, the drug at first makes cystic fibrosis patients vomit up mucus for about a week. They lose that week and then they gain a lifetime–a healthy, *normal length* lifetime. Pharma brings miracles!

My AT&T cell service is so degraded and almost is non-functional in several places now. My favorite is when it shows I have a signal but I literally cannot get an email or text through. "Unlimited data" feels like a lie. So, I think there is a tremendous opportunity for SpaceX.

Hamas murder-raped many women to death on 10/7/23. I didn't even know that you could rape someone to death until then. The goal was psychologically evil, especially to defile and parade around dead women. Hamas represents the opposite of everything we value in the West.

The biggest killer on the planet is stress, and I’ve always believed in the medicinal benefits of the cannabis plant. That’s why I support the new CMS Innovation Center initiative expanding clinician-guided access to hemp-derived cannabinoid products. It’s an important step toward learning more about how these plant-based remedies can improve the health and quality of life of older Americans.
