It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinions than our own. -Marcus Aurelius

In contrast, name even one politician in recent history who has lowered your bills.
Name one? How about a few? Rockefeller lowered the cost of kerosene through efficient refining and distribution. Ford made automobiles affordable through mass production. Carnegie reduced steel production costs through industrial innovation. Walton lowered retail prices through bulk purchasing and efficient logistics. Dell made computers cheaper by eliminating retail intermediaries. Kamprad made furniture affordable through flat-pack manufacturing and distribution. Bezos intensified retail competition through Amazon. Koum made international messaging practically free through WhatsApp. Page and Brin made search, navigation, email, and translation available without direct charges. And that's barely scratching the surface. In fact, it would be considerably more challenging to find a billionaire who earned their fortune through voluntary trade without lowering costs, improving quality, increasing productivity, or making something more accessible. That's how fortunes are generally made in competitive markets. You create value for others, and the more people you serve, the greater your potential reward. You don't even have to buy from these businesses to benefit. Their competitors must improve their offerings or risk losing customers. These clout chasers destroy their credibility daily without so much as flinching. They enjoy the accumulated benefits of capitalist innovation while confidently demanding evidence that any of it ever happened. The economic illiteracy would be impressive if it weren't so commonplace.

Junk mail: "say, could you throw this away for me? Thanks."
the idea of physical junk mail is fascinating nobody wants it. it gets a near 100% negative reaction. there are no people on the pro junk mail side saying "please send me more crap." the entire experience is: print a million pieces of junk -> pay the post office to deliver them to people who don't want it -> the person on the receiving end is responsible for throwing it away... it's a glorified garbage conveyer belt the response rate is like 2-4% at best... which means 96 to 98% of us regular people are subjected to a daily onslaught of total garbage so that one person in about 200,000 can find a deal on someone to power wash their driveway. insane, stupid system. should disappear.

It's ok to admit the Roadster is amazing.

Webster with subtle humor for the win.
The grammatical 'colon' and the anatomical 'colon' are not etymologically related. The anatomical 'colon' comes from the Greek ‘kolon’ which means “large intestine.” The grammatical 'colon' comes from the Greek ‘kōlon’ which means “limb.” Both are a means to an end.

No one has ever cited Josephus as a witness to anything about Jesus. 🤣
To those who insist on citing Josephus as a witness to anything Jesus:

Amazon dot com’s stock price has now fallen 95% from its high on December 19, 1999. In just 21 months, this once-promising tech darling has fallen in the dustbin with all the other tech bubble busts.

"For the record, Jesus wasn't murdered. He committed a capital crime (blasphemy) and was executed for it. Herod and the Sanhedrin didn't make the final decision to execute him, Pilate did. JESUS espoused blasphemy and it got him killed by the Roman authorities. Was it right? We don't know. Was it legal? Yes." Am I doing this right?
For the record, Servetus wasn't murdered. He committed a capital crime (heresy) and was executed for it. Calvin didn't make the final decision to execute him. SERVETUS espoused heresy and it got him killed by the Geneva City Council. Was it right? I don't know. Was it legal? Yes.

I don’t care what anyone says, wired telephones were better. No charging, no random disconnecting, no random batteries running out. You plugged it in and it just worked. Technology really complicated something that wasn’t broken. Spoken like a Luddite.
I don’t care what anyone says, wired earphones were better. No charging, no Bluetooth randomly disconnecting, no one ear dying before the other, no bullshit. You plugged them in and they just fcking worked. Technology really complicated something that wasn’t broken.

Yeah, he definitely won't need money for the next decade or so until then.
Money won’t matter but @elonmusk went to court to get the biggest pay package in human history.

So do airlines actually plant a tree when I book a flight? There should be a whole new forest somewhere by now called American Airlines

My ignorance of Greek mythology is truly my Achilles horse.
I am again noting that twitter is not reality.

Who's right?? If America is truly celebrating our 250th then @JamesSurowiecki the pretentious corrector, is incorrect. It was Philadelphia.
There's something odd about being so self-righteous when you're so wrong. Mamdani is, of course, correct, and Posobiec is wrong - New York was the first capital of the United States of America.

Sounds like a prompt issue.
You know all those stories about people who diagnose their maladies using AI, even when a doctor can't? Here's mine. A couple weeks ago, I developed terrible hip pain. My father had just died. I had to travel to MN. I did not have time to see a doctor. So I AI'd it. Bursitis. 🧵

No.
Anyway, capital gains should be taxed like ordinary income.

What's probably even more astounding than *Trillionaire* is that Elon's net worth is nearly 3.5% of the entire US GDP - surpassing even Rockefeller on that metric. 😮

Does anyone think Saylor's recent moves have been purposely designed to follow the current bear narrative so he can accumulate more bitcoin while it's still relatively cheap?

What if you could earn Bitcoin for doing your daily Bible readings? Well now you can. Let me introduce to you, "The Orange Bible App." I've been hard at work bringing this vision of mine to life and we are finally LIVE on the Apple App Store. The goal is to encourage people to read the whole bible and introduce Christians to Bitcoin for doing it. As you know since writing my book, "The Bible and Bitcoin" I've been on a mission to orange pill the church, I believe this app is the next tool to do that. Read your Bible, earn Bitcoin. Each day you complete your reading your streak grows and you earn more. Miss a day and your streak goes to 0 and you start with the lowest reward again. Gamified bible reading with Bitcoin. It's that simple! Go download it now on the Apple App Store and get started. *Android is coming soon.

How would you phrase the red/blue button question for Calvinism?

Very few jobs/industries are paid based on effort alone. If this were the case, people digging ditches and bricklayers would be paid more than bankers.
A woman on Instagram said: My husband and I go out to dinner and order lobster dishes at $50 each and the table next to us order burgers at $15 each. Why do we have to leave a bigger tip than the other table when we had the same waitress and got the same service?
