I don’t know why this needs to be said but public housing is the only truly permanent and viable form of public housing.
The market can’t & won’t build true affordable housing.
Tearing down public housing and handing it to private developers is handing over the keys to the bank

In what fucking world do SOCIALISTS stand with the Hudson Yards developer in support of bulldozing public housing, over the protests of the tenants?
Hats off to the developer lobbyists who spent years strategically infiltrating the DSA right.

We’ve known since 2020 that Covid can harm the brain, cognition, and emotional regulation. We keep acting like things we know are a mystery or a conspiracy theory.

I have a theory that, since Covid, people have increasingly lost the capacity to emotionally regulate themselves and have largely turned to unconscious energy vampirism as a result. as a spiritual person, never in my life have I felt the need to protect my energy from THIS many people, THIS often.
People are truly not well. You can feel it everywhere.

If you are in New York City and are too sick to cook for yourself, there is an organization interested in delivering free prepared meals to more Long COVID and ME patients!
God's Love We Deliver has been quite an institution in New York - they started out delivering food during the AIDS crisis and have grown to a $30 million/year non-profit. But when I went to apply, I quickly found out that though they serve pretty much all of the "traditional" illnesses - Parkinsons, ALS, etc. - they don't support complex chronic conditions!
So I've been doing some personal advocacy. Over the last few months, I've emailed, and called, and emailed, and called, speaking to several different people and making the case for how debilitating Long COVID and ME are. Finally, I was able to convince them to accept my application.
Once I was connected to the nutritionist assigned to my case, I had a long call with her and she was blown away that someone could be bedbound from Long COVID - she had never heard of such a thing! So I convinced her that I should help get the word out in our community and she agreed.
GLWD delivers frozen meals weekly: five lunches and five dinners, and they work with you to customize nutrition based on your specific needs.
I have finally been well enough the last two weeks where I can get out of bed for a few minutes to roll over to the microwave, and it is such a joy to eat warm food again.
If you or anyone you know is in NYC and could use meal delivery, I'm happy to walk you through how to apply and answer any questions.

Tenants opposed this deal because it privatizes the development, which increases rent and makes evictions easier, and current tenants are not guaranteed units and must reapply through the private management company. This is a gentrification project to hide poor people in Chelsea.
The New York City Housing Authority has sent lease termination notices to a handful of public housing tenants who are refusing to relocate to make way for a $1.2 billion project to demolish and rebuild some deteriorating buildings in Chelsea. buff.ly/8VsWiSz

At the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the early 1980s, cyclosporiasis was identified as one of the most important opportunistic infections among AIDS patients.[12]
In 2005, Ghimire and Mishra reported a case of cyclosporiasis in a patient with low hemoglobin and suggested that this coccidian might be involved in reducing hemoglobin due to a lack of the immune system.[13] In 2006, their groups published a paper about the role of cyclosporiasis in HIV/AIDS patients and non-HIV/AIDS patients in the Kathmandu Valley.[14]](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HNDSJHHWwAAlXFZ.jpg?name=small&format=webp)

The entirety of US housing policy is being set by SF tech founders. Everything revolves around getting more studios and one beds for 24 year old men with no connection to community.
moving to sf is brutal.
you don’t know anyone, so you look for a short-term rental. open airbnb and it’s all 100-year-old run-down victorians going for $6k a month.
sf needs a hostel, backed by tech money, built for immigrants and young founders trying to break into the city.
