I think it would be interesting to have SQLite databases per domain. UserDB would have users and any associated tables like preferences, profiles, etc. You can connect up to 125 SQLite databases together and it will query them all as if one. So the main db could just be the joins
I'm surprised The Rails 8 way doesn't touch on Encryption. I know it's not 8 specific but it's a mandatory action on many of my apps.
The rails 8 way book is really good. Except for that random chapter on HAML, please stop. I've never worked anywhere that uses it and I don't plan on using it.

Does delegated_types just make the parent element a join table?

Software is a garden. The reason people don't finish something they started in the past isn't because they've lost interest, it's because they see how overgrown their garden is. It's not worth the effort clearing it vs starting something else.
How important is 100% test coverage if you still find bugs? Does that weaken the stat? Is it better to prefer 85% coverage as an admission you know bugs are a part of software?
