Al Pacino had a renaissance in the 1990s. It’s not to say that his run in the ‘80s was “bad” by any means - the guy starred in Scarface, not to mention a few other awesome films. But the ‘90s felt like a rebirth of Pacino. Is it the same, tight-lipped, quietly explosive young actor who rose to stardom in the ‘70s? No, it’s a different, older version of Pacino. But the quality of films from Al in the ‘90s felt like a return to form after a few misses in the previous decade. The Devil’s Advocate is one example that supports my very claim. Pacino’s run in the ‘90s was flat-out special.
