Steve Kerr says Roger Federer taught his Warriors team the secret to sustained success wasn’t outworking everyone, it was building a life around your craft you never want to escape from
“I’ll tell you a great story about Roger Federer. We were playing in China with the Warriors in 2017. Roger was in Shanghai for the Masters tournament, so we invited him to come speak to the team.”
“Draymond Green asked him, ‘How do you sustain success? How have you managed to win majors 20 years after you first won one?’ Everyone was expecting him to say, ‘I work harder than everybody,’ the will, all the clichés.”
“Roger Federer says, ‘I get up every morning and I make breakfast for my kids. Then I take them to school and drop them off. Then I go practice tennis for about two hours, and I’ve figured out a really good routine where I don’t destroy my body, but I can get all the work in I need.”
“‘Then I go have lunch with my wife. In the evening, we cook dinner together. The kids are all home from school. We ask them about school. There’s so much joy in the house. We put them to bed, and then I put my head on the pillow and go, “Man, that was just a great day.” And I’ve been doing that for 20 years.’”
“And it was like, yes. That’s it. That’s the formula. That’s what leads to sustained success. He loves tennis. He loves his family. He loves life. It’s not outworking everybody and banging your head against the wall, ‘I’m going to be better than everybody.’ It’s allowing your natural talent to shine through with a work ethic, with a great family life, with perspective, with peace, with mindfulness.”
“It’s perspective. It’s joy. It’s passion. It’s mindfulness. It’s an awareness that we are truly lucky. To get the most out of ourselves, it’s our daily rituals and experiences and love and joy.”

This clip is exactly why the White House didn’t want Gavin Newsom anywhere near Davos.
Because he doesn’t do the “bow your head and smile” routine.
He says it out loud, on camera, in front of the world and makes Trump’s chaos look as unserious as it actually is.

Today-On the 10th day of the Bird Month, Guru Rinpoche was cast into the Ganges by tīrthikas—yet he rose, dancing in the sky, reversing the river’s flow. Known as Guru Khading Tsal, the garuda-like master, he turned kingdoms toward the Dharma. 🌊🪶 #GuruRinpocheDay

You don’t need to collect information and knowledge about meditation.
You need to collect experience.

"The unobstructed expanse of primordial knowing,
Reaching full completion in its lack of anything to abandon,
Is the true nature of phenomena.
This luminous awareness of one’s own mind—
Is the flowing stream of the Buddha’s compassion itself."
-Longchen Rabjam (Longchenpa)
This is a direct pointing-out of rigpa — the non-dual awareness at the heart of Dzogchen.
“Unobstructed expanse of primordial knowing” refers to the fundamental nature of mind (ye shes), untouched by concepts or stains.
“Lack of anything to abandon” shows that the path isn’t about purging or acquiring — it is about recognizing what has always been present.
“Luminous awareness of one’s own mind” is self-knowing awareness, not a thing but the very clarity that knows itself.
“The flowing stream of the Buddha’s compassion” — realization is not separate from compassion. The recognition of rigpa spontaneously gives rise to bodhicitta, like the sun radiating light.
really good advice - calcium test can find issues and issues can be there whether you think you're in great shape or not - I discovered my issues while swimming half a mile in the lake days after a 90 mile bike ride - doesn't matter how much you exercise
PSA for all the men who follow me.
If you’re over 35 and can afford it:
Get a calcium scan of your heart. You can ask for it at your yearly physical.
The test is super simple, costs less than $200 (insurance doesn’t cover it) and it can save your life.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in excellent shape— those are the folks who don’t realize they have a blockage until they have a heart attack.
Have had a couple of guys close to us either have a heart attack or discover a major blockage that could’ve killed them.
Both of them extremely active, and physically fit.
