Investing in VC, like other equity investments, is both a beta play and an alpha play.
Beta is exposure to the market / risk factors.
Alpha is excess return from picking better than average startups.
Until VC indexes are broadly investable, you're fully exposed to both. #vc

Customers are everything. They’re your lifeblood and energy source. They’re your value to the world, your meaning, and your mission. Investors are not.

Data is the future of venture capital.
Venture capital is no longer just an art, but a science. VCs who refuse to adapt risk falling behind. The era of decision-making by a rule of thumb is coming to an end.

Hey Natasha! It just so happens we're building the same right now at aVenture.vc (@aVentureFunds). Our first product launch is for startup fundraising.
And I see you just did the write-up on Hampton -- I'm a happy member of the Hampton community in SF!

Every seed deal I did where the founder got drunk on fundraising and then raised a massive round from Tier-1 VCs and marked me up 5x is now zero
Every seed deal I did where the founder quietly took my money, obsessed about the user, and iterated for 4 years is now a clean 10x

To be an effective venture capital investor, you have to learn to separate the hype from the substance - and be comfortable with the fact that you're wrong more often than you're right.

10.6% of all American households were accredited investors in 2020, which means almost 90% of Americans can't invest in Venture Capital. Who else thinks this is a problem worth addressing?

Exciting news! @aVentureFunds was just featured alongside 20 of the "best venture capital companies and startups to work for in North America for 2023" by AngelList.
I'm a bit biased, but I agree 😊. We have a wonderful team to work with!

Venture Capital. Although platforms like @aVentureFunds hope to change that

Assuming someone already has a diversified portfolio of public stocks, I’d use this money to invest in several different leading VC funds on the @aVentureFunds platform. Especially because some funds can offer liquidity/redemptions (so no 10+ year lockup).

The democratization of VC investments….it never made sense why people can gamble their life in Vegas but can’t invest in their friends startup.
Crowdfunding regs opened up opportunities, but current platforms make it very difficult to diversify.

5) We founded @aVentureFunds to solve these specific problems. VC fund accounting, portal, contracts, investor updates, etc are all nice, but they’re not unique. Paying all these overhead costs right out of the gate harms everyone. There’s a better way.

9) You/your investors/LPs only pay as you go. We’re launching in the coming months, and are looking for great and emerging VC managers who have already managed at least 1 fund to work with us. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! aventure.vc/fund-managers

Hypothesis: We will see epic founder + VC returns from investments next 12-24 mos. Founders now can see roadmap to successful public company, are going to run leaner, raise less $ and own more of their companies. Will go back to seeing Series A-B-C-IPO…🤞
(yes, I am biased 😊)
