When Aragorn closes frodos hands over the one ring, the ring of barahir is shown prominently on his finger. The ring of barahir, a powerless ring in terms of magic, was a symbol of friendship given to barahir by finrod. It always moves me seeing a ring that represents friendship, oath keeping and loyalty covering a ring that embodies domination, power and selfishness.

Even though the Elves weren't at helms deep in the books I always thought adding them was a nice touch. It shows that the war of the ring is more then just about the survival of Gondor and Rohan, no this war effects everyone and they could only win together.
