Marinette just laughed Adrien's talk off, mumbling something about being Multimouse and not being Ladybug.
As he talked about why he loved her, though, Marinette's face fell into a cherry red blush, and she found herself moving her hair to cover it.
She felt almost embarrassed; asking questions as if she may or may not return feelings โ may or may not give in to the temptation to tell him.
Not today, she told herself. It's too much for one day. Maybe the next day, or maybe even tonight at patrols.
Just not now.
At the idea that Adrien suspected Marinette of being Ladybug, her face immediately jumped into a bright red shade.
"ME?! Ladybug? Please, Adrien, I constantly feet over my own tripโ I mean, trip my over own feet! I mean..."
She took a deep breath, knowing her obviousโ
love her, huh?"
Marinette's heart swelled at the thought of Chat Noir really not caring who was under the mask. If he suspected it might have been Marinette, it seemed clear he didn't mind the thought at all.

God, this was so complicated. So many layers, and not enough time to digest it in this conversation. She made a promise to talk to Tikki later.
"Why did you fall in love with Ladybug?" she asked quietly; curious.
Marinette hummed, "Well I hope whoever she is is just as awesome as her superhero form." She gave a small laugh and fiddled with her fingers.
"I mean, you may have been the last person I expected, Adrien, but..."
She thought for a moment, wanting to make sure whatever she โ
said was said correctly. She took a deep breath, and began to start over:
"You have been the last person I expected, but you're definitely one of the people I'm glad it is. I feel safe knowing that the funny Chat Noir is just my friend being a dork." โ
