Serious question: What state of matter is bread?

Well, about 68 more people voted on this than I expected. So I felt it warranted some research. Supposedly, bread can be considered a gas-in-solid solution (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread) or, as @csopso put it, colloid.

Today I learned that First Nations people are vastly over-represented in the Canadian prison system, comparable to the way black people are over-represented in the American prison system. And it’s getting worse. oci-bec.gc.ca/cnt/comm/press…
This is horrifying. Shocking. Repulsive. This calls for more than a simple, “it reminds us of a shameful part of our history.” 215 dead children found in Kamloops, BC. ctvnews.ca/mobile/canada/her…

#BlackLivesMatter I am fortunate enough to have grown up with a moderately diverse extended family, but I feel embarrassed that I didn’t realize that some of my family members continue to deal with racism to this day. I am so sorry for not being more supportive sooner.

Apparently I'm a day late (and more than a dollar short), but earlier today (a.k.a. yesterday) was the day those born on 08/08/08 turned 8.

And little did I know that exactly one year from that date, my own little 08/08 would be born.

Please pronounce your R’s and use “normal” grammar when talking to a toddler. Otherwise you’re literally teaching them to say things wrong. “Carrot”, not “cawwot.” “I’m sorry,” not “I sorry.” That’s all I have to say about that... for now.

The older I get, the less I think I should have been trusted to make grown up decisions before now.

I’m as impressed with Drake giving “nearly $1 million” away as I would be with my Uncle Steve paying for someone else’s Starbucks.

While this season is immensely difficult, I suspect it is going to bring with it a new wave of creativity — probably new breakthrough artists of many mediums — as people find ways to cope with the world as it is, and also (hopefully) get bored with TV, YouTube, and casual gaming.

Existing artists will start experimenting with new ideas and techniques, and new artists will start spending more time expanding and polishing their creative skills. I’m hanging on to the hope that this potential silver lining will come to pass.

(Fair play to Dr Daniel Reardon for trying to invent something to help people - a reminder that most inventors spend most of their time not succeeding, and at least a little bit of their time accidentally doing something hilariously embarrassing)

Beware of doomsurfing. Anxietybait articles sell ads. Brain health is just as important as physical health. 5 mins of news will tell you anything crucial you need to know. If you’re working a critical job- thank you. If you’re at home, take this opportunity to learn a new skill!
New word for 2020. Every time my wife sees me staring ashen-faced at my phone, she tells me to “stop doomsurfing”.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people wearing snorkelling masks along with their face masks. Well... actually it’s been a bit since I’ve left the house. Maybe that’s what people are doing. That would make sense. #CanadiansIn3Words North. Cold. Bored.
