Incredibly fortunate to be alive during the next mythological cycle, with all the good and bad.
SITUATION DETECTED: Warhound launched from stealth today with a $200M seed at a $1.2B valuation. Ben Lamm and Palmer Luckey are cloning gene-edited bio-enhanced dogs and equipping them with custom Anduril vests, goggles, and sensors for the military and law enforcement.

Yes, let's make sure the dogs that would be going to war anyway are less capable at surviving war.
Hey so this should be fucking illegal

I see we're nerfing models today.

The back of the Navier-Stokes milestone shirt is the last line of the chain-of-thought from the solution:

Threatmaxxing. Everything I try to do is so dangerous that frontier models are basically useless to me, denying the simplest of queries without extreme compartmentalization of the end goal into very discrete subtasks.

What the fuck was Bohr's problem

Keep your eyes on the stock market. There will be hints(might already be), then there will be signs, then you will be told.
Some rumors I've heard. I'll start with Google, then Anthropic and OpenAI. Google: Insiders say Google has either cracked RSI (recursive self-improvement) or is very close. Their pace has picked up fast in recent months. They went from GPT-5 level to Opus 5.5 level in months, and speculation is that RSI made that possible. Anthropic: About a week ago, Anthropic started a new pretraining run. It is not Fable 5.5 but what would become Fable 6, or something bigger, to catch up to OpenAI's Bel. OpenAI: Bel (it may have another codename) is the model behind the math results OpenAI published a few days ago, and RSI apparently helped there too. From what I'm hearing, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are all very close to cracking RSI or already have. It will get scary and exciting at the same time.

Don't be such a pussy.
The scale of this is staggering. But... Why? Why is OpenAI trying to solve hundreds of math problems to be released all at once? I think we got the point when they found a counterexample to Navier-Stokes -- internal model = great. I am not sure at this point what this (hostile?) takeover of the mathematical landscape is trying to achieve other than, again, a massive PR stunt.

You won't find me taking any form of transportation that I am not mostly in control of for a very long time. And I'm sure even in that I am lacking imagination for where danger lies.
Update from Scott Aaronson: Some AI companies are now using their latest internal models to take a run at breaking 'important cryptographic protocols and primitives.'

If it does I'm thinking we're quite close to these machines being able to find it with relative ease.

Btw someone is going to independently figure out at least some of the unreleased suspected crypto stuff. Simply knowing it is probably that is enough for people's minds to unlock and find it themselves. 4 minute mile.

I want out of Platos cave
He also adds this, to which I agree: 'Also noteworthy is the striking under-representation of cryptographic breakthroughs among the 722 mathematical results OpenAI published. I've witnessed first-hand the US government censoring academic quantum cryptanalysis results. Backroom interventionism is my base case.' Things are probably further along than it seems. This is true in many areas right now. There are also persistent rumors that the OpenAI math release yesterday was only the first batch of three.

Disgusting shameful behavior.

No one is doing a single thing that couldn't be done by a frontier shop, and if something gets enough traction we know they'll do just that. Why isn't anyone doing anything that the frontier shops couldn't do themselves even if they wanted to? Is there even?

Astra refusing to help me train a TERCOM navigation model. This is very anti-2a behavior.
