Just realized I'm actually a spoiled brat. Like if it's not EXACTLY how I want it, I don't want it at all. 😭

this is the only way the DA will understand that the taxi war isn’t a township thing, it’s a city and economy issue 😁
Cape Town international airport at a stand still … taxi strike affecting even airports… no staff could arrive and entire system collapsed… where’s @Our_DA @geordinhl

Until the government puts its foot down and provides clear direction on taxi operating rights, we will always be here. The current violence can be traced back to Hermanus, where operators left one taxi association to join another about 10 months ago. We saw a similar dispute over the B97 route in 2021, where 83 people were killed. At the heart of this conflict are questions that government must answer: Who controls taxi operating permits - individual operators or associations? Are permits issued to individuals because of their association membership? And what happens to an operator's permit when they leave one association to join another? These are fundamental regulatory questions that require clear answers.
We condemn the violence stemming from internal fights within the taxi industry in Cape Town. Our Cape Town Metro Police officers are maintaining a heightened presence around various high risk taxi ranks to protect commuters. The City will act to uphold the rule of law and support SAPS to hold violent criminals accountable. We will do whatever it takes to make communities safer.

Sometimes you have to experience chaos to realise how beautiful an uneventful life can be.
A peaceful life can start to feel boring when you're used to chaos. But there's nothing boring about being safe, having a sound mind, and not spending every day bracing yourself for something to go wrong. That itself is a blessing.

Law Roach is right. Do not apologize to not a soul for the life you worked hard to build. People only see your rise, they either don’t know or ignore your struggle that brought you there. They may not know, but you do. Live and enjoy the life you built. Their hate is on them.

There’s nothing a male friend is telling me that I dont already know, or that my female friends haven’t told me.
I think it’s important to have a few male friends as a woman. You learn so much lol.

There is no level of good parenting that can insulate the black youth of this country from the despair and violence of township life.
The township keeps doing what it was designed to do: devour its own children. A place shaped by deliberate neglect, where dreams are born against the odds, but too many lives are swallowed before they ever get the chance to flourish.

Guys, learn to pay people back. It’s honestly so selfish to ask someone for money when you’re desperate, only for that same person to have to chase you for their money afterwards. Sometimes, I give you money that I haven’t used yet bcs I understand your situation. Stop this BS.
Lmao I shouldn't have told this guy he'd get his money today 🤣 oko endihleli and there's literally nothing I can do

It’s sad seeing an adult with a fully developed prefrontal cortex reason, process information and make decisions like they still have years of development ahead of them but they actually don’t. This is their ceiling.

i am no longer afraid of things falling apart. i have seen what happens after the worst of it. the sun still rises, people still laugh, new things still begin, and one day, you find yourself happy about something you once thought you would never recover from.

If you ask me about my past, I'll always say it was necessary to shape the woman I am today. But if you catch me in a vulnerable moment, I’ll confess that my heart didn't deserve even half of what it had to go through.

so freeing to not reduce yourself to a single occurrence — can’t hold anything against me, especially, once it’s been alchemized. yeah I experienced that, yeah I felt that, and I (re)turned it, tenfold.
I've been radically releasing myself from shame. Yeah that wasn't my best moment. Yeah that broke my heart. Yeah that was a rough time for me. Yeah that was embarrassing. Okay? So what?
