🚨🗣️: Lamine Yamal on why he put on a sad face after Harry Kane won the Ballon d’Or ahead of him: "I have huge respect for Harry Kane and everything he’s achieved—he's a legend of the game. But as a competitor, when you put in all that work and dream of taking home the biggest trophy, you can't completely hide the disappointment in the moment. My face wasn't out of disrespect to Harry; it was just the raw emotion of wanting to win so badly. It only gives me more motivation to keep working hard and come back even stronger next year." "I think anyone who knows me knows how competitive I am. I step onto the pitch every single match wanting to be the best and to help my team reach the absolute top. Standing there, so close to a dream you've had since you first kicked a ball in La Masia, it’s impossible to just turn off your feelings. When Harry’s name was called, a part of me was just genuinely hurt because I believed in what we accomplished this season. But that’s football. Harry is an incredible striker and he earned his moment. My reaction was purely human—it was the hunger of a youngster who wants to write history. I’m not going to pretend I was happy to lose, but I'll use that exact feeling as fuel for every training session and every match from here on out."
