I rolled out an embeddings cache for our NPCs and made the median embedding request 2x faster. It's not much but it's honest work!
Plus I like it when AI reply lag gets measured in milliseconds :)
These aren't nuke plans, they are peak "placing mugs on a table" performance
(We asked Claude to design a tool it could use to place props on furniture and it went way too hard)

IMO it's pretty awesome that games are getting reverse engineered left and right, so I thought we should make Robotopia even easier to mod.
We added a cli so any agent can edit your scene's JSON, eg. make any scene you want.
The editor is fully multiplayer like a Google Doc, so you can actually look around and watch Claude place stuff as it goes!
Today's slop! What if someone was still making F-Zero, and they recognized that Silence from F-Zero X is the most radical track in any racing game?
I reimagined it as a Mobius strip *around* the moon, close enough to dodge mountains and such
So I cloned that one meme disk tree app, and vibe-polished it into my favorite Disk Tree app for Mac so far. I wish I had this in the last 10 years!
It tries to sort of follow Mac OS design guidelines, it's fast, it finds big files. Enjoy!

Sometimes slopping up a game can answer deep questions like, "what if the snake in Snake was a plane around the Earth and also could jump?".
I made this in a couple days a few months ago, but it turns out it's fun tbh! Maybe I should continue it 🤔

Aight I'm a believer, jev is really awesome for games/low latency tool calls, especially because of the guaranteed latency. The worst part about traditional LLMs for game NPCs is how sort of all over the place they are.
I ported Robotopia Skill Checks (eg. persuasion, secret reveals, intimidation) to @typesafeai 's Jev, and dang it is FAST!
Should speed up talking to NPCs quite a bit :)
Robotopia has tons of AI voices and we're trying to figure out a fair way to make em! We're hiring voice actors explicitly to train them.
A VA can play 3-4 characters and we don't make new ones they haven't agreed to.
Here's the first, robo-valley-girl-barista-murder-suspect :)
We decided to upgrade @robotopiahq robots' AI from Gemma4 to the fruit fly brain, you know, for that extra manmade horror
