I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know what’s going on with millennial parenting because I’m not a parent, but I’m subjected to you guys’ children and there is something wrong with the way these children see adults. they think we are their equals and I’m here to tell you, I am not.

Great journalism by @Phil_Lewis_ here. Tuskegee kids discuss how they rarely see bonnets and durags on campus and how they’re dealing with a much more pressing housing crisis and an administration that granted an honorary degree to a Republican senator who is undoing critical race theory education in Alabama schools.
And the thing is the vast majority of the disconnected loudmouths who don’t know shit about this generation of HBCU students but still sought to tear these kids down won’t even read this bc they’re the intellectually lazy losers they accuse these ambitious, education seeking young ppl of being.
There’s been a lot of conversation online about the dress code policy at Tuskegee. But current students have been largely left out of the discourse.
So I talked with some of them:

Okayyy responsible man! I ain't mad at it. Wish men had more birth control options instead of just vasectomies and condoms
Jeremy Shockey reveals why he got a vasectomy at 21 after being drafted to the NFL
Jeremy Shockey: I got a vasectomy at a young age. Like 21 years old when I got drafted. I had no kids. I didn’t want kids.
Shannon Sharpe: You got a vasectomy at a young age?
Jeremy Shockey: Yeah. When I played in the NFL, I didn’t want any kids.
Shannon Sharpe: But you want kids now?
Jeremy Shockey: Yeah. I reversed it.
Jeremy Shockey: When I get home from work, I want to recover. I would sit in my hyperbaric chamber, get acupuncture, go to sleep, wake up, and do it again. I always thought, “How’s this person playing the same position as me, he’s got more catches than me, he’s married and he’s got three kids? I could never do that. I’m a very one-lane guy.”
Shannon Sharpe: People are going to be watching this and say, “This man got a vasectomy at 20, 21 when he got drafted?”
Jeremy Shockey: It’s a smart thing. You could save it. You could obviously reverse it.
Shannon Sharpe: Did you talk to your mom?
Jeremy Shockey: Yeah, of course.
Shannon Sharpe: What’d your mom say?
Jeremy Shockey: I told her, “I signed a contract with this team, but they could trade me next year. I don’t need any of this. I need to be like a horse with blinders.” She said, “Great decision, son. Save it in the sperm bank and you’ll be fine.” I only had so many days to play in the NFL. I don’t know where I was going to end up. To minimize that… football.
