Four calamities the Prophet (S A W) told us to seek Allah's protection from, because they can destroy your heart, your worldly life, and your akhirah;
The Messenger of Allah (S A W) said:
"Seek refuge in Allah from the hardship of calamity, from being overtaken by misery, from a bad fate, and from the gloating of enemies."
1- The hardship of trials: these are the burdens you can’t bear: a sickness that wears you down, or debts that weigh heavily on your soul.
2- Being overtaken by misery: it means being lost in this life and the next.
In this world- a confused heart, an exhausted body, constant effort with no success, and fake happiness.
In the next (may Allah protect us)- hellfire and deep regret.
3- A bad outcome: asking Allah to protect you from a destiny that brings sorrow or harm. And if such hardship comes, your duty is to be patient and trust that all destiny, good or bad, is from Allah.
4- The joy of your enemies: tbh, few things hurt more than falling, and seeing those who hate you laugh, mock your pain, or celebrate your failure.
Don’t let a day pass without this powerful dua:
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من جهدِ البلاء، ودركِ الشقاء، وسوء القضاء، وشماتة الأعداء
Transliteration:
Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika min jahdil-bala’i, wa darakish-shaqa’i, wa su’il-qadhaa’i, wa shamātatil-a‘daa’i
