Head of Design at Stripe on how to stop creating zombie UIs
If we only use AI to make the things that we already make, just faster, then we're definitely missing out on the most interesting part. From my talk at @lennysan’s Summit, here are four ideas for raising the ceiling, not just the floor: - Have a point of view [5:38] - Encode your standards into the machine [9:07] - Don't confuse done with good [12:21] - Unleash creativity and artistry [16:19] Full talk here: youtu.be/GLvFTMtw4Jk?si=-5Ts…

if you watch the Internet backwards, the nerds kick the corporations out and simplify the communications protocols until a single person can understand everything at once

Received a @FrameworkPuter 13 Pro but there's absolutely no places to buy a lpcamm2. Think it's a return without even unpacking 🫠

Mind boggling to me that I can make a thing faster and there's always people that ask "but why?" What kind of mentality is that? The pursuit of excellence does not need justification. Also, I find in so many cases, we can't know the impact of an improvement until we do it. For example, one I've talked about before: Ghostty's high IO throughput has enabled terminal program (emulator and TUI) fuzzing at a speed thats incomparably fast to prior solutions. This has resulted in upstream patches to resolve issues in popular projects like btop, tmux, and more. Speed enabled that anecdotally example that lifted the tides of adjacent communities that don't rely on Ghostty technology at all. I didn't predict this. Make things better because they can be better and let the results naturally play out.

“Post work society “ Can someone please enlighten me on this one? It is in human nature to grow and want more as you achieve your goals. Such a public figure openly discouraging youth from higher education is a shame. Besides socializing, finishing a hard college instills grit, which all of us need to survive and be happy. What happens if nobody works? Communism V2 or Handmade’s tale?
