Well, that escalated quickly.
BREAKING: Egypt is now officially entering the Saudi-Houthi war, with at least two Egyptian Air Force C-130H transport aircraft reportedly landing at King Fahd Air Base in Taif this morning, after Egypt’s National Defence Council, chaired by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, pledged “all necessary and possible forms of support” to Saudi Arabia, per Reuters.
One of the C-130Hs reportedly left Egypt with its transponder switched off.
Taif sits in western Saudi Arabia, within reach of the Red Sea coast and the Yemeni border zone, where Houthi activity has been concentrated.
This is now escalating into a full-blown regional war.

These two firings are 100% Donald Trump’s fault. Neither woman *clearly* possessed the qualifications for the job President Trump inserted them into. Failure was a forgone conclusion.
It’s a common theme of the Administration that so very many men and women are unqualified for the highest jobs they were thrust into.
We will all eventually pay the bill for this incompetence.

Israel’s New – and Terrifying – Security Doctrine

If you read one thing today, make sure it is this:
In a stunning piece published by the head of one of Israel’s most prominent think tanks, Maj. Gen. Tamir Hayman describes the reality of Israel’s new security doctrine:
A few crucial principles he describes:
1. The United States is a “declining power” and, given its ongoing social and political shifts, will soon abandon Israel in any event. This is compelling Israel to move toward greater self-reliance in order to avoid “excessive dependence” on the US since it “exposes Israel to the influence of a progressive American value system that is incompatible with Israel’s Jewish character.”
Then he concludes: “Severing ties with the United States is therefore not only inevitable, but essential to Israel’s independence and the resilience of its Jewish national identity.”
2. Primacy of Jewish Identity over Democracy: The state’s Jewish identity takes precedence over its democratic system of government.
3. Peace as a Means Rather Than an End: “A meaningful peace agreement is unattainable in the Middle East, as peace agreements are merely technical and temporary arrangements requiring constant reassessment. According to this view, peace is not an intrinsic value that generates security, but a means of achieving other policy objectives.”
4. “Rejection of the Independent Existence of Arab States: The underlying premise is that most Arab states are not genuine nation-states, but collections of tribes and ethnic groups lacking a shared history and a foundational national vision. Consequently, undermining their stability is viewed as a natural process, one that Israel can manage more effectively than it can contend with strong nation-states, and one that it should even encourage.”
5. “War as a Foundational State: War is essential to national security and cannot be replaced by a state of peace, which, as noted, is merely a means rather than an end…. War is necessary, and preventive war is preferable because it secures a significant achievement at the outset.”
6. “Absolute Priority for Initiative and Offense over Defense: Preemptive, surprise strikes are viewed as the only way to achieve victory, giving offense precedence over defense.”
And there’s more.
Important to note that Hayman does not advocate for this. Rather, he contends that this already is the new security doctrine of Israel.
He is describing reality as he sees it. And that reality simply is not compatible with a US or Western alliance with Israel – unless the West transforms into a similar entity that treats war as a permanent and desirable state of being.

.@SenMarcoRubio may have just handed Tehran one of the biggest propaganda gifts of this war and planted a deeply damaging narrative in the minds of Iranians who once viewed America favorably, potentially shaping their perception of the U.S. for generations to come.
Reaching back 2,500 years to invoke Xerxes and the burning of Athens to frame a contemporary war isn’t just lazy history. It’s dangerous politics. Ancient empires fought, destroyed, and conquered one another. Including Alexander's burning of Persepolis.
Dragging that into today’s conflict explains nothing. It just reframes this war as a civilizational clash. And that plays directly into Tehran’s hands. For years, the Iranian government has struggled to convince its own people that the U.S. is not against the regime, but against Iran itself. @marcorubio framing makes that argument for them.
Even many Iranians who despise the Islamic Republic are deeply proud of Iran’s history and identity. Foreign attacks and civilizational rhetoric don’t win them over. They push people away. So instead of isolating the government, this kind of rhetoric helps it rally around nationalist sentiment and resistance. Whatever the intent, the effect is clear. Washington is helping Tehran sell a story that it could never fully sell on its own: That the United States is at war with Iran itself.
At a time when Washington has yet to provide a full public accounting of the strike on a school in Minab that tragically killed more than 168 people on the first day of the war, including 120 children, when 1000s of Iranians have been killed, dozens of Americans have lost their lives, hundreds more have been wounded, and ordinary Americans are paying the economic price of this war, Rubio's attempt to reach back 2,500 years to invoke a clash of civilizations is a stunningly misguided diversion. Rather than answering the most urgent questions why the United States went to war, what it has achieved, and how it justifies the enormous human suffering and destruction it has inflicted- he seems to be searching ancient history for a moral framework to explain a war whose present-day consequences demand accountability.
The question is not what Xerxes did to Athens 2,500 years ago. It is what the United States is doing to Iran today, why it is doing it, and who will be held accountable for the lives destroyed in the process.

1/ A coordinated geopolitical shift is sweeping across Latin America.
It isn’t an organic conservative resurgence but rather a top-down, pro-Zionist realignment designed to turn sovereign nations into vassal states for Washington and Tel Aviv.

Supporting Israel is against America’s national interests.
One point the film NAZA makes, which may be obvious to some, is that one of the reasons Israel decided to strike Hamas fighters in their homes with family asleep rather than when they assembled outdoors is spelled out by one intel official:
“There are only so many military sites in Gaza — hundreds? But there are lots of private homes. There are 40,000 operatives, so that’s nearly 40,000 homes.”
The goal was to maximize the carnage and the destruction of civilians infrastructure and the killing of non-combatants.
The AI used for targeting also identified many civilians as Hamas operatives — an official gives an example of a baker who has customers in Hamas; the AI would flag that he had been in contact with Hamas members and kill him and his entire family at home.

Unfortunately, people like Will don't understand that this isn't some kind of achievement. Nor was this some kind of big play at the start of a football game that shows a team's dominance.
It was a cheap shot, where our country violated hundreds of years of international law and Western precedent (the thing we claim to be the moral leader of) by choosing not only to assassinate another head of state, but to do it in the middle of negotiations.

This is a blatant lie. The Iranian delegation had a precise schedule for its arrival in and departure from New York, which had been announced in advance. As the delegation was at the airport, preparing to board its flight, the U.S. State Department called Iran's Mission to the UN to inform it that the delegation should be leaving. @SecRubio's attempt to portray this as an act of American toughness is a cheap publicity stunt.
It brings to mind the absurd king in The "Little Prince", who lives alone on his tiny planet, convinced that he rules the universe. Eager to demonstrate his authority, he orders the sun to set at the precise moment it is naturally due to do so.
