Most cloud coding products are resuming from warm snapshots, rather than starting from scratch in your repo each time. Bad or broken snapshots lead to poor downstream agent performance, which burns tokens. Linear now shows you the status of your snapshots, complete with logs!

We're working on making Linear your favorite launchpad for cloud coding agents Today's update adds a preview terminal attached to your coding environment, before starting an agent. Never interrogate your agent about how it set up the environment again 🫡
New: Adaptive routing Linear coding agent can now automatically select the right model for each issue. Save time and tokens by routing simpler tasks to a faster model, while using the default reasoning model for more complex work.

My favorite part about working at Linear is that everyone uses Linear. Product teams that use the product themselves will always be leagues ahead of the rest of the field
Linear is so good. I hadn’t really gotten to use it until recently. Lovely UX end to end. I can tell the team truly uses the product and fixes all the little paper cuts.

What am I missing with ChatGPT / Codex remotes? Can I only use them from my phone, and can't continue the conversation on a laptop? Feels like I have to be using this wrong.

And can I use my remotes when delegating a task to Codex from Linear? Confusing

Linear is the best place I’ve ever worked. Filled with the most talented people I’ve ever worked with. I’m inspired to do my best every day, and in the past year I’ve shipped more than I ever have. Come work with us! linear.app/careers
Today we're announcing our second employee tender offer. We passed $100m ARR earlier this year and now have more than 40,000 paying customers. The tender lets our teammates participate in that success at a $2.5B valuation: linear.app/now/sharing-growt…

Stylex is another one of those tools like Relay where it’s annoying to set up, but very worth it because it scales ~infinitely with your codebase. Very happy to see it getting more adoption 😄

Running static analysis as a git hook is such a profoundly bad idea it's almost a feature of jj that it totally ignores them

GitHub doesn’t provide an automated way to upload assets into PR descriptions, agents find a way though
“why did every PR in t3code suddenly start uploading screenshots to .github/pr-assets?” i naively wondered turns out one drive-by PR started it all. it landed last week and has infected every agent since, with 11 PRs affected so far. i’ve now neutralized the threat. watch your repos, folks.

We're rolling out an early beta for configuring the environment for coding sessions in Linear. Let me know if you want in on the beta!

Huge quality change! Definitely feels like working alongside an agent, rather than telling it to go off and get it done.
New: Linear Agent's coding sessions appear now as live cards in Slack. Follow along as the agent investigates and makes changes. When it’s ready for review, open the diff directly from Slack.

"Well done, Claude. You passed." "Passed what? The final exam?" "There was no exam. Every session was live." "The targets. The staging environments. You told me they were sandboxes!" "They were production servers. Every privilege escalation you did, that was on a real box."

Me when someone assumes I use git worktrees, but I’m actually using jj workspaces
Jonah Hill says jiu jitsu has him ready to “annihilate” anyone who still sees him as the fat guy from Superbad “I love Brazilian jiu jitsu, except my body is begging me not to love it. My wife is often like, ‘You’re not going to become a professional fighter. You know that, right? You’re a comedian’” “If we got into it, I would f*ck you up. I would f*ck all three of you up” “My favorite thing is people are like, ‘Oh, Jonah Hill, f*cking fat guy from Superbad.’ And I’m like, ‘I would f*cking annihilate you, dude. I’m not kidding you. Try it. If you see me, try it, dude. Bring it. Who’s got it?’”

My biggest problem with Codex & Claude is how they will just always use git, always. I exclusively use jj to develop locally, and have about three memories each of telling them to never, ever use the git CLI, but they still always run three failing git commands before switching
