My story today on Veeramani case. Police had access to the video, in which Gem Granites Veeramani is seen engaging in sexual acts with children, in November/December 2024.
In a twist to the case of horrific sexual abuse allegedly involving Gem Granites owner R. Veeramani, a Congress leader on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) said he had informed the Chennai Police about the crime as early as in November 2024.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee’s Scheduled Caste Department president M.P. Ranjan Kumar said he met a senior police officer at the Chennai Police Commissionerate on November 22, 2024, and submitted a complaint, seeking action against Veeramani and his associate Shanthi.

On Saturday, the Madras MBS Choir, the oldest surviving Indian choral music group in the country, took their places in two neat rows, in an unlikely location.
