World-leading cardiac surgeon Asif Hasan was surrounded by the children who received the gift of life thanks to his unerring skills at the emotional climax of another memorable Pride of Britain ceremony. 🥹
Now 70 years old, Mr Hasan has just retired after 35 years of service at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but just after receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award, he had an extra special surprise: a cast of patients who would not be alive without him. ❤️

The crazy part about this whole sexual assault of minors is the fact that the outrage would have been significantly greater if the headmaster’s victims were boys.
Religious leaders and co will all lend their voice and it won’t be cos of the assault, it will be the homosexuality.

“I am a man of God.” “I am a church elder.” “I am a teacher.” “I am a headmaster.”
These titles are meant to protect. Instead, too many abusers wear them as cloaks, using respect and status to hide their evil, to rape, to defile, and to silence. It is exactly why, when the truth comes out, the victims are the ones doubted. “Not him. He’s a respected man.” But a title is not a character reference. Status does not equal innocence. We must stop protecting reputations and start protecting children. Demand accountability, no matter who the accused is.

do you all have any idea how forgiving children are? any idea at all? you’re throwing them under the bus yelling at beating them and they’re clinging to your arm telling you they love you. you will answer to God for how you treat these kids man

While we’re on the matter, children are NOT in school to serve housemasters and housemistresses.
Stop making children cook for you, clean your homes, wash your clothes, fetch water and perform other personal chores that have absolutely nothing to do with their education.
They are students, not your domestic workers!
And please, spare me the “we did it in our time” argument.
Just because you endured something doesn’t mean another generation should have to.
Some traditions deserve to end with us.
Children go to school to learn, not to serve the very adults who have been entrusted with their care.

I think Muslims need to understand something uncomfortable.
Non-Muslims do not owe Muhammad their respect. They do not believe he was a prophet, and some do not even consider him a good man. You can disagree with them, but you cannot demand that they see him the way you do.
Your reverence for someone does not create an obligation for the rest of the world to revere him.
So, are we going to kill everyone who insults Muhammad, or are we going to learn to practise our religion in a world where not everyone shares our beliefs?
Because the world is not going to become Muslim just to protect our feelings.
We have two choices: learn to live with our differences or spend our lives fighting a world we cannot control.
You cannot force people to love your prophet by making them afraid to criticise him. You can only teach them to fear those who claim to love him.
