So, I'm not gonna comment on my own feelings towards this (if you've been following me, you know), but I will say this: I've been telling y'all this has been SEGA & Sonic Team's direction with the character for *years* now. I've been telling you that Ian Flynn was not making these changes, he was following what SEGA wants. And I was right, and this is the final proof. This is something y'all have been citing for years as her "true" characterization, but it's not. It hasn't been for years, and they've finally updated things on the Japanese side to reflect that. IDW Amy is video game Amy. Flynn's Amy is SEGA's Amy. Accept that. Don't be surprised if there's even more homogeneity between the American and Japanese sides going forward (aside from non canon works like Sonic & TBOC and the Sonic movies). Now, to be clear, I'm not saying you have to like it. I don't care. I'm saying you need to stop blaming individual writers and blame SEGA and Sonic Team for these characterization decisions. Specially the Japanese branch. Take it up with them, not the writers who are just following their guidelines.
