What a beautiful gig by @JOANPOLICEWOMAN at @Howard_Assembly tonight. Exquisite sound and setting. Also loved how carefully she credited everyone involved.

Is Queen Street in Burslem the UK's most neglected yet beautiful street? Tragic to see so many brilliant buildings unused and crumbling away.

I really miss my dad on days like these, so I carried with me a letter he wrote over 30 years ago telling me he was proud of me. I don’t think a man who grew up in poverty in Stoke would ever imagine his girl would be a Dr but here we are. I stand on his brave shoulders.

My research is in creative co-production with people living with dementia. Their stories matter. It made me so happy that some of my research participants and collaborators were watching at home, sharing this moment. I carried their stories with me. #LeedsBeckettGrads

The Met Office has issued an extreme heat warning for next week. Please remember the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke especially for older and medically vulnerable people. Early intervention to cool people down and rehydrate them can be lifesaving. nhs.uk/conditions/heat-exhau…

Beryl is so loved in Yorkshire. When we premiered @MPeakeOfficial’s play ‘Beryl’ @LeedsPlayhouse in 2014 so many people had stories to share about racing with her, working with her, even building her house! People brought in photos, donated bikes for the set. It was just amazing.
"Why didn't I know about her? I feel shame that I didn't know about this woman and her achievements."
