“Officially a blockbuster actor!!!” Wilbert Ross could barely contain his excitement after his first mainstream film in a lead role, “Pee Mak,” officially crossed the ₱100-million box-office milestone in just 19 days. The actor celebrated the achievement on Facebook, proudly declaring his new status as a blockbuster leading man while thanking the entire team behind the Filipino horror-comedy. “Congrats sa buong team PEE MAK!!!” Ross wrote. He also encouraged audiences who have yet to see the film to catch it in cinemas. “May rason bakit 100M na yan. Kaya sa mga di pa nakakapanood! Manood na kayo!!!” The milestone marks a major career breakthrough for Ross, who rose to popularity as a member of the boy group Hashtags before pursuing a solo career in music, acting, and publishing. FROM ₱40 MILLION TO ₱100 MILLION Released on October 14 in more than 200 cinemas nationwide, “Pee Mak” has demonstrated remarkable staying power at the box office. The film earned ₱40 million during its first week, climbed to ₱60 million after 10 days, and reached ₱90 million after 17 days. Just two days later, it crossed the ₱100-million mark, becoming Ross’s first blockbuster film as a mainstream leading man. The achievement is particularly significant for an actor who is still establishing himself as a commercial movie headliner. A WINNING STREAK BEYOND CINEMA Ross’s box-office breakthrough follows a series of successful ventures in entertainment. In July, he celebrated his 10th anniversary in show business with “WRten by Wilbert Ross” at the New Frontier Theater. His first concert reportedly sold out in just 15 minutes, prompting organizers to mount a second performance, which also sold out within an hour. Beyond acting and music, Ross has ventured into publishing with his suspense-thriller novel “Pagbilang Kong Tatlo” and original superhero comics under his “AdLikhain Hero Verse.” These projects have helped Ross build an audience across different entertainment platforms. A NEW COMMERCIAL LEADING MAN Directed by Victor Villanueva, “Pee Mak” is the Philippine adaptation of the hit 2013 Thai horror-comedy. Ross headlines the film alongside Bea Binene, Vandolph Quizon, TJ Valderrama, Jairus Aquino, and Gian Bernardino of Cup of Joe. With two sold-out concerts, growing publishing ventures, and now a ₱100-million theatrical hit, Ross has reached a new milestone in his decade-long entertainment career. And this time, the actor himself is proudly claiming the title he has worked toward: blockbuster actor. (✍️: Top Dagohoy) #radarPHEntertainment #radarPH
