I’ve watched Ruffalo play a hero for 15 years.
Millions of us have watched him play a man who fights his own worst instincts to protect people who can’t protect themselves, and cheered every time he won.
It is strange to watch that same man sign his name to a letter that erases five murders, then call a fair question about his own reasoning appalling.
Stranger still that he isn’t unusual.

About a week before Thanksgiving, my mother, 91, fell and broke her pelvis. We watched her do it, in fact. Breaking a pelvis is MUCH better than breaking a hip - she didn't require surgery and they had her on her feet the next day, with pain killers. 1
Remember, she is 91 and social, and home is now scary and, even with my brother spending the nights, which he would, she's lonely. The aides don't speak English. So. The subacute also has long-term care - a nursing home. And Mom met other residents and they're okay. 5

The great Andre Braugher was masterful as Thomas Searles in the movie “Glory.” But let’s talk TV for a moment. I would argue with Frank Pembleton and Capt. Holt, he was the greatest Black television actor of all time. And a fine gentleman.
Rest in Peace.
#AndreBraugher
I am devastated at the loss of #AndreBraugher His talent, brilliance and fire illuminated every role he played. Rest in peace.
COVID (this is my second time) means that, although I had the energy to cook dinner, I don't have enough to eat it.
I was symptomatic and tested positive on Saturday. Been taking Paxlovid since Sunday. The fever is gone, the congestion is gone. The fatigue is very real.
I just made the best turkey I have ever cooked. I am now completely sold on brining. The meat was tender and moist and not salty at all.
Turkey is in a brine designed for kosher turkeys (which are already salted.) Bags of frozen string beans are thawing, to be blanched before serving. And I made vegetarian mushroom gravy.
Tomorrow, it's the turkey, the beans and the stuffing, and meat gravy.
Watching the Gilded Age. They're having a formal luncheon, and everyone is SHOCKED! SHOCKED! that there is a soup course. Luncheon soup courses were perfectly normal in that time and place. I found several 1882 luncheon menus with soup.
For my big 60th, Jon got me a vintage necklace and earring set from a 70s artist, made of beaten metal discs. Gorgeous.
He also bought me a Coach bag, of my choice, easily the most expensive bag I've ever owned. Also gorgeous.
And a perfect steak dinner to finish it off.
I did magic tonight. I removed a fabric bandaid, with the very strong adhesive, with neither effort nor irritation.
Baby oil. I applied a few drops to either side, and it just lifted up. No red marks from pulling.
This is good because it's a skinned knee.
I knocked it against the pocket in front of my airline seat and, woof. PAIN. It hurt the entire two hour flight and my black tights stuck to it when I stood up 2 hours later. That knock scraped off some of the new skin.
