Our mission at @david_protein is to create tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. The three most important principles to guide a diet that achieves these goals are: 1) eat sufficient protein 2) don’t eat too many calories 3) minimize added sugar consumption There is no bar that achieves these goals better than David. Yes, David is a processed food. Yes, processed foods are most often unhealthy (because they’re often loaded with fat and sugar). However, processing actually can make our food safe, accessible, and, in some cases, more nutritious. That is what we are doing with David. You know this, of course, as your brand Kettle & Fire, could not sell shelf-stable bone broths without the processing that occurs. While we weren't around then, we don’t believe our ancestors had the “retorting” and “aseptic” packaging technology that you use (“retorting” my food into “aseptic” packaging sounds kinda scary, doesn’t it!). With the guidance of our Chief Science Officer Dr. Peter Attia and other nutrition experts such as Layne Norton, we take an evidence-based approach. Our ingredient choices are governed by the proven effects they have on the human body, not by subjective views of health or nutrition dogma. We are proud to bring a bar to the market that can deliver nutrition facts far superior to any other. Anyone can learn about the ingredients for themselves here: davidprotein.com/pages/about… Which brings us to the elephant in the room: If your concern is “processing,” how does Surely wine — your brand that takes wine, strips out the alcohol using industrial processing, adds flavorings and sulfites, then bottles the result — earn your stamp of approval?
David Protein Bar. At first glance, their marketing might convince you that it's healthy. In reality—it's a nuclear bomb for your gut, metabolism, and overall health. Here is a breakdown: 🧵

A fascinating irony about work “rules” is that they all come with invisible exception clauses. “Don't bring product solutions, just report problems” actually means “… unless you’ve done the rigorous analysis a PM would.” We love absolutes right until someone puts in the deep work to break them brilliantly. Then suddenly we’re all pragmatists.

An observation from watching season one of Landman. The back office people (i.e. the lawyers) are domain experts. The character Nate is a contract lawyer and clearly without his understanding of oil and gas, he would be a much less effective one. I don’t see this in software.

What is the magnitude of the alpha if a founder is funny? I think it’s huge and I don’t think anybody realizes it.

Who TF decided it was okay to call your startup an operating system if you’re not building an operating system. You can’t be building an AI operating system for pet groomers, sorry.

EPD Twitter: what do you call “the data model” in a product but manifested in the UI? If I wanted to say, we need to change the data model but really I’m referring to we need to both change the data model and the product experience resulting from it, what is the word I should use

Don’t get me wrong it’s a decent product, but I can just tell that @soulcycle at-home bike app/content is not designed by PMs who use the original SoulCycle product. They don’t understand what made the original (IRL) product great.

If you work in a B2B product that integrates with complex products, one of the best ways to up-level your comms is anytime you feel like making up a word for a concept, go find that concept in the partner docs, and replace made up word with verbatim what the partner calls it.

Core insight is there is a massively powerful correlation between restricting your comms about other systems to only words that system uses and people understanding what you are talking about.
