Never forget: Fani Willis had to give the cars back because the DA's office missed a mandatory deadline to hold a hearing in the civil forfeiture case.
They "tried" to appeal this dismissal.
As part of that "effort," her office requested 2 deadline extensions on the basis the court reporter was still preparing a transcript.
Young Thug's team submitted an affidavit from the court reporter (whom they had hired and the DA's office declined to split costs on) stating nobody from the DA's office had even reached out to request the transcript. They also provided email correspondence between the Steel Law Firm and the prosecutor handling the case showing they offered the transcripts at half the cost (it was a small amount, like $120 or half of $120 or something).
Judge Whitaker tossed the appeal. In her order, she noted that the State caused an "unreasonable and inexcusable" delay, actively misled the court, and unfairly prejudiced Young Thug by continuing to withhold his property without cause.
So, Fani had to give back all the cars she wanted so badly.
Gotta love it.

COMING 2027 🚨
▫️ 90-minute feature documentary
▫️ Directed by Shianne Brown and produced by Passion Docs, executive producers: Kari Lia and Hamish Fergusson
"Major feature documentary covering the extraordinary rise and trial of Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug, and his band of brothers from the streets of Atlanta. Prosecutors set out to prove that he and his music label were actually a criminal street gang. High drama meets farce in this incredible story where a city and even rap itself are on trial."
