Sol is an epic model, and I’m grateful that our team has had access for the past few months.
With each respective frontier release we see the calls of the demise of OAI/Anthropic are premature. We are in a world of abundant competition / progress and we’ll continue to see this game of leapfrog for a long time.
There has never been a better time to build and scale a business!!!

If you’re starting from the premise of ‘make money’ and not ‘create value for X,’ you have already lost sight of the cornerstone upon which money can actually be made at scale.
Even if you think the labs are the last companies (lol) they will still create massive wealth for non-employees through acquisition / vendor relationships over the next 5-20 years (pick your agi + distribution timeline)
I am increasingly convinced there are only 2 ways to reliably make money in this AI cycle:
1. Be a great investor who can spread risk across many bets.
2. Work at OpenAI or Anthropic.
Anyone else that makes real $$$ (including startup founders) are the exception that proves the rule and should feel blessed their lottery ticket hit 🎰
I think we're deluding ourselves if we pretend anything else is true.
I am not saying don't build. I'm building.
I think we should just be honest with ourselves.
No amount of hard work or luck will save you.
So what should we do? I think you have 2 options whether you are a startup founder, work at a startup or even a larger company.
I would ask myself:
1. Am I in a winner?
2. Do I have a very clear edge to win?
If the answer to either of those is no, I would drop everything and try to align myself with one of the points above.

This is right, if you're going to build application layer ai you should be building the whole role not a specific workflow
that said, in order for your system to be exceptional at the role, you're going to need to manicure the right context in real time. entirely different problem
