After last night's Warriors' game, I watched James Wiseman's minutes with a friend who works in basketball. Here's a thread that builds on some of the things we discussed and the interesting details he pointed out.

Andrew Wiggins shot worse from three in the 2022 NBA finals than Harrison Barnes did in the 2016 Finals. Wiggins impacted the game when his shots weren’t falling, Barnes folded
“How do you impact the game when your shot isn’t falling…” Why I personally always believe the off night is a great evaluation tool

Paint field goals are the first thing to go after achillles. KD was relatively immune to this because he transitioned effortlessly into late career Dirk
Jaylen Brown has his faults but the main difference is he'll put his head down and get into the paint. Tatum settles for jumpers. Over and over again.

Great work by The Athletic’s finest writer!!
The scary part about the Steph injury is that it appeared to be non contact. He was around center court and went to make a move. He felt his knee give a little. The crowd went quiet. He tried to calm everybody by waving his arms. He went back to sideline, knew something was wrong

Yaxel had a historic and outlier ast/to for college players his size. That translating, even in a small sample size, to the NBA, bodes well for his development
57% fg 44% 3pt 3.33 ast/to 23 mpg

Jimmy’s injury sucks, but it’s giving Yaxel an opportunity to explore and get a glimpse of how high his offensive ceiling can get. The downside is that this increased offensive responsibility is coming at the expense of his defensive focus and efforts
If this holds, the scouting report on him coming into the league was way off (least as I was told). Dude needs work on defense but is somehow a walking dribbling bucket!

Tyrese Haliburton was supposed to be a lockdown defender and connective offensive player coming out of college, but he’s turned out quite differently under Carlisle

Experienced Klay watchers know that he’s a rock guarding the post. As he’s gotten older and lost his food speed, he’s better-suited to guarding bigger wings
Foquem no Klay Thompson aqui. Os times vão atacá-lo como ele fraco da defesa toda noite, olhem como ele tá sustentando…

Dray could have reached higher levels later in his career if his body had been protected by the Warriors’ org
Replying to @nikotaughtyou
Him still having to play meaningful mins as small ball 5 is just going to crush his body even more than it already has Team has never been able to add a reliable starting Center

Yaxel barely jumps on his layups, and is a freight train in transition with basically 0 explosion at the rim. He walks into easy buckets by being big, and having great balance. Night and day to **

As a rule of thumb: I am more impressed by a prospect’s ability to create easy looks for himself than I am their ability to hit tough shots. If you are constantly taking tough shots, that’s cause for concern and indicative of a weak skill set

I still struggle to get up as early as I should, but embracing breakfast went a long way for me. The earlier I wake up, the more likely it is I eat three meals in a day. How beautiful it is to wake up and immediately eat — I sustain life with pleasure by starting my day with food
What is the secret to waking up earlier and do NOT say it's going to bed earlier. it's crucial that i find a way to become the worlds first night owl who's also a morning person

I will not miss Kuminga throwing his hands up, asking for whistles he didn’t earn on drives

As far as I recall, Matt Barnes referring to the KG/J-Rich trade that Chris Cohan nixed, is the first time that a Warriors’ telecast has ever acknowledged the trade that never was

Yaxel is unhurried when he drives, and doesn’t need to explode at the rim to finish. Pretty wild how easy he’s getting to the rim

Brandin Podzeismki’s pump fames are so predictable that even Kevon Looney can easily block whatever happens after the fake and pivot

The Warriors need Yaxel to take the keys on offense, and push lesser offensive players down the totem pole.
Very impressed by these Yaxel pick-n-roll passing reps.

The flourishing of reality TV stands as the most evil era of American cultural production and we’re still living in its world
primetime is the first true period film about the 2000s and it has it on lock. the film is not about pedophiles or about the ethics of television it is about how insane, psychopathic, and soul-annihilating that period of history was. mcmansions included. 9/10.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read something genuinely compelling or insightful from a Warriors’ beat writer. This is a great article
New: Yaxel Lendeborg has asked Stephen Curry's advice on conditioning. He's asked Jimmy Butler to teach him his rocker-step. But the most important Warrior in his development: Draymond Green. "He's really been taking on the role of being, like, my vet." sfchronicle.com/sports/warri…

Wolves took a risk trying to win and using a high lotto pick to supplement their rotation. If your lotto guy can’t help you win, his value will tank quickly. Former lotto picks’ perception are protected by losing/tanking
The Charlotte Hornets are waiving former No. 8 pick Rob Dillingham, sources tell ESPN.
