New game idea: University Challenge Manager.
Where you can trade eggheads & take the University of Bolton from the non-televised regional knock-out rounds all the way to the Grand Final and the ultimate prize of a single begrudged compliment from the host.
New favourite podcast: The Red Line, discussing international affairs & geopolitics. Episodes on Rare Earth Minerals and El Salvador have been great @redlinepod theredlinepodcast.com
Trying to quit smoking? A packet of grated cheddar and some wafer-thin ham make an ideal replacement for roll-ups @TwopTwips
Really excellent episode from @MacroVoices, where @ErikSTownsend spoke to @energybants, about nuclear power. Learned so much about small modular & LFTR molten salt reactors, Diablo Canyon. Also got shoved towards the @DecoupleMedia podcast, and have been binging ever since

Nice article by @CJHandmer about the economics of Starlink, the SpaceX global satellite internet offering. Starship & mass production will give SpaceX a huge lead. I’d like to read a discussion of the geopolitical implications. How will China firewall it? caseyhandmer.wordpress.com/2…
My new favourite (old) band: the Au Pairs, from Birmingham, UK. Active ‘78-‘83. Sharp hooks and resolute lyrics, with a patina of post-punk grime. Joy Division meets Savages. youtu.be/xjbBr1_rSD8
I’m going to say it: craft beer has gone too far. They will flog any old shit. Who the hell wants to drink a 11% tarragon saison matured in marmite barrels at £9 a schooner?
