I’ve been working on single stair reform for years. @HACdotorg sponsored a bill in Sacramento this year and we’re honoring leaders from Culver City on Single Stair reform.
Any framing that this is single stair reform in SF is factually inaccurate. @SFjkdineen @DanielLurie
For years, housing advocates have championed a change to this design rule as a way to encourage construction of smaller multifamily housing projects in San Francisco. Now, it’s finally happening. sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti…

This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”
She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing she didn’t build but *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds🧵

I really need a data analyst job based in SF. I know SQL well + some Python. I’ve done a variety of types of data analytics over the course of my career but my primary experience is in RevOps/BI. If you can’t hire me, could you please RT for visibility?

"Oh interesting, what drives industry concentration?"

I hereby challenge any YIMBY-skeptic who supports public housing to speak with the director of real estate at any large public housing authority in the country. I guarantee they will tell you about the importance of zoning and permitting reform. Happy to make a connection!

Beautiful morning celebrating the groundbreaking of 3300 Mission, a 100% affordable housing project in Bernal Heights.
I’m proud to have played a small role in pushing this forward—organizing with D9 Neighbors for Housing to fight an attempt to appeal this critical project.
Replying to @_fruchtose
The first commenter is A Bernal Heights neighbor who lives a few blocks away supports the affordable housing project. The former residential hotel had no parking before. And they would feel better knowing the building were unhabited.

Outcome-oriented policy that fixates on getting the details right matters!
Thanks to @Scott_Wiener for leading the charge for housing fee deferrals, and to @cayimby's co-sponsors @HACdotorg and @calhsng!
The @TernerHousing Center's analysis of SB 937, HAC-sponsored legislation authored by @Scott_Wiener that will become law in January, says it will "tip projects into feasibility":

Let’s be very clear.
Y’all got played so hard.
She co-opted your politic and language hoping for the progressive vote and y’all bought into it, meanwhile she is equally committed to preserving Israel, her running mate turned out to be a transphobe and anti-abortion.

As a lifelong renter, I understand how crucial rent control is to helping people stay in their homes in our city. I’ve always been open to expanding rent control to protect more tenants across San Francisco, but it’s important to do so in a way that doesn’t hinder housing production. This legislation achieves that balance.
The amended rent control proposal aligns with the Housing Element we approved last year. We need to both build more housing across neighborhoods citywide and ensure policies are in place to keep people securely housed.

As supervisor for 16 years Aaron Peskin’s preferred land use policy was to concentrate new development in polluted post-industrial neighborhoods with disproportionately low-income/Black and Brown residents to shield more affluent white/East Asian neighborhoods from any change.

Up until recently, we couldn’t get very many elected officials to even admit that we have a housing shortage.
Now look at us 😏
This is why it’s important that all of us continue to use our voices!
