The marshals who brought George on the motorbike after the DNF share his stories. Q: Everyone knows DNF means Did Not Finish, right? Basically just taking the driver from where their car broke down and getting them back to the garage. : I went over and told him, "It's okay bro, next time will be better." He just kept his head down listening. Later when he got on the bike, he was still looking at me with his head drooping. I thought to myself, ugh, maybe I should take a detour. Just let him cool off for a bit, calm down, and drive slowly back behind the pit lane. Q: Did he hug your waist? :Nope. People said he looked super drained, like he was trying hard to stay strong but also holding back tears, not even knowing where to put his hands. That’s pretty much how it went. Q: Was that an order from above to pick him up? Or did you see it was Russell and wonder if he might snap at you? :His state really wasn't great at the moment. Since I'm a track motorcycle patrol officer under the captain, whenever we see a driver or a car having issues, we have to respond immediately and rush over. As for instructions, I'm part of the Bahrain crew, so my supervisor pointed out exactly where Russell's car was. Even if I had to go handle it, I needed to park in a good spot next to him and help him onto the bike.k
