i very much think that the other s2 couples' stories will run parallel to hollanov instead of bottle eps. they and the audience need examples of what they could have! skip bottle ep in s1 made sense bc it was all about managing their secrecy — for scott, shane and ilya.

a lot of heated rivalry fics aren't even particularly canadian either is the funniest part like your problem is with americans (the majority of english-peaking fandom) writing what they know instead of doing any research. frats, venmo, whatever else... like 😭

quick little ai tell psa! the highlighted phrase is from dan brown's the lost symbol, published in 2009, way before we had generative ai. it's proof that ai cribs phrasing that authors have been using for ages (ie "with the x of a man y") BUT, it also shows why it's still a tell.

basically, apply the smell test. does it work in context? does it illuminate a character trait? is it a metaphor that actually works — or is it a phrase that sounds fancy but doesn't end up meaning anything? a human writer will make the correct connections. a bot will often fail.
