An investigation under-cover in Moldova revealed that people were bribed through Telegram and directed by bots to vote in specific ways during the elections. This discovery has caused a big reaction in the country.

We still don’t fully know how big this operation is. People were also paid to onboard others to a Telegram bot.
Controlling people through Telegram feels like something out of a Black Mirror episode. People paid to onboard other people to Telegram bot as well.
And the bot is still online! Sell your country for a quick buck.. There is no information on who owns the bot.
Telegram is facilitating this kind of activity by providing anonymity on the clear net.
