New Mexico born and raised = Lobo born and raised🐺 #OurState #GoLobos

Oklahoma was obviously looking past Michigan to the big game vs New Mexico

Life is about how you respond to adversity. I transferred to UNM after my Redshirt freshman year from a rival program. Back then you lost a year of eligibility transferring from 1 D1 school to another and lost a second year of eligiblity transferring within a conference. We appealed and got the second year erased leaving me with 2 years in a new system. My first year with the program I didn't break into the rotation. Going into my senior year I had made headway with my coach and was in the rotation going into training camp. I then tore my hamstring on the last day of summer practice during 7 on 7. I tried to rehab it but fully ruptured my hamstring on the first day of training camp and missed all of fall camp. Unfortunately that meant that I wasn't going to be in travel squad. I could have quit right then. Many do. Instead I came back early and practiced at 75 percent to give our starting offense the best looks I could give them. 2 things you can control: attitude and effort. Practice became my game time and eventually I was able to see the field and earned a letter playing in our bowl game. Winning the award was better than not winning the award. Not everyone wins a heisman. Not everyone wins a conference player of the year. Not everyone starts. Get the wins that are available to you and never give up until the bell rings. Go Lobos!!!
