I took a woman needing a wheelchair to the gate today. The TSA agent had to do a hand search of her carry-on.
"Looks like you might have food items in your bag, ma'am?"
"Yes, I bought some cheese."
"Is there anything sharp I should know about?"
"No, I didn't get the cheddar."
Even atheists are praying for you. You are a good man. Please get well.
I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.

The party that handed billions to Foxconn for an empty field and bulldozed family homes is suddenly lecturing people about corporate land grabs?
Tiffany literally voted in Congress to fast-track tech infrastructure deregulation and took cash from tech lobbyists, but go off.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

This is really going to help affordability.
Paying a 17-year-old kid $22 an hour to wash dishes at Applebees will make today’s $18 cheeseburger cost $25.
Take a family of four out for burgers in David Crowley’s WI, and dropped $135 with taxes and a tip - with no drinks, just water.

In 1963, 20-year-old George Harrison visited his sister Louise, who lived in Benton, Illinois, accompanied by his brother Peter.
George had traveled to the United States to spend a few days with her, on a visit that made him the first Beatle to set foot on American soil, several months before the group’s triumphant arrival in New York in February 1964.
During his stay in Illinois, Harrison was able to experience firsthand the American music he so admired. He played with local musicians and visited music stores, where he ended up buying a Rickenbacker 425, a guitar he later modified and used during the early years of Beatlemania.
The photograph shows George with Peter, Louise, and his niece in Benton. For Harrison, those days were much more than just a family vacation, they represented his first encounter with the country whose music, especially rockabilly, country, and the blues, had profoundly influenced his development as a guitarist and the sound of The Beatles.
If this is even true, wait until he sees The Rutles.
Paul McCartney texted Beatles movie director Sam Mendes to tell him Paul Mescal (McCartney) is shorter than Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), which is not accurate: "Don't do this!"
“We were all the same height!... if you look at photos, we’re all the same height. Guess what? [Paul Mescal] is smaller than the guy who plays John [Lennon]. Sam Mendes is making the film. I said, ‘Sam, I’ve got just one thing that I need to say to you. You know, Paul [Mescal is] a bit smaller.’ He sent me a picture, a still from the filming they were doing, and they’re crossing the Abbey Road crossing, and the Paul character is markedly smaller. I texted him: ‘Sam! Smaller? Don’t do this! You said you wouldn’t do it.’”
McCartney once shared a similar complain with "Nowhere Boy" director Sam-Taylor Johnson, who responded: "This is a movie, it’s not a documentary."
"And I thought, ‘Well, I don’t like that explanation,’" McCartney says. "But I couldn’t do anything, because by now she’d made the film. There was I, little Paul. John, the great big hero, and it’s like: No! It’s not true.” (via Good Hang)

Elvis. But if flying into Orange County (SNA), I would lean over and say to the guy across the aisle, "Hey, John Wayne. This is your airport!"
And Elvis would giggle.
Speaking of, a young woman came down from security today because TSA doesn't allow spreadable cheese past the checkpoint. She didn't want to check her bag so she gave it to me. And guess what. Cheddar!
Elvis. But I get the window seat.
