The same classes of ligands can be perceived by distinct ectodomains. We discuss and summarize representative solved receptor-ligand/receptor structures to provide mechanistic insights into how diverse ectodomains sense different molecules.

Paper @PNASNews We think nematodes break open plant cells, sense small molecules (termed effectostimulins), which switch on a master regulator SUGR1, which switches on effectors, which break cells. Looks like a feed-forward loop driving infection. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24…

I am glad to share the final version of the S. americanum and effectoromics paper. It was posted in BioRxiv and finally published in @NatureGenet, nature.com/articles/s41588-0…
I'm excited and proud to share this work! S. americanum (SAM) is highly resistant to late blight. We generated 4 Ref SAM genomes, an effectoromics matrix with 315 RXLR effectors from P. infestans x 52 SAM accessions, and identified 3 novel Rpi genes and the corresponding AVRs.

🎓Excited to be defending my PhD thesis next Monday! Delving into potato genetics, we've uncovered the secrets of self-compatibility and unreduced pollen production. Our vision? Combining these traits in an efficient interploidy (4x-2x) breeding approach. 🔬🥔

I am very excited to share our latest preprint! In this study, we found that secondary roots formed in response to cyst nematodes are adventitious lateral roots and dependent on WOX11. Also, we found that these roots reduce the impact on plant growth! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
